Product Manager - NDCPurpose of the role
The Product Manager (PM) develops and drives the Product Vision and strategy. The PM provides continuous feedback to the Product teams and helps the teams to follow the Product Vision. The PM must develop a deep understanding of the target market/industry, build close relationships with key stakeholders, and define the business strategy for the Product.
Business environment
The department mission is to maximise the Air booking profitability in Distribution channels.
The objective of the team is to manage the end-to-end Air product and solutions built for travel sellers regardless the content source of the provider, and make sure we maximise the adoption across all Distribution channels. The main activities are the following :
Drive the Retailing /Merchandising end-to-end strategy across the entire TRD organization
Deliver new features with end-to-end product life cycle accountability
Focus on NDC Merchandising ecosystem to enhance Travel platform adoption
Following products are part of the team portfolio: Ancillary Services, Fare Family, Seatmap, Rich content, Merchandising Benchmark, Amadeus Quick Connect
Main responsibilities
Understand market and customers
Identify customer needs (feed the product vision) with key input from sales, etc.
Conduct research to understand customer behavior including how they're using existing solutions
Synthesize research into customer problem statements
Prioritize problem statements based on overall solution narrative and potential impact
Develop value proposition and key messages corresponding to problem statements.
Develop product strategy
Write strategic memo as a cohesive narrative including:
Product's strategic positioning and value for company and customers
Set product goals and metrics that support enterprise goals/metrics
Define high level product requirements
Ensure product strategy is aligned with commercial strategy and socialized with relevant stakeholders
Customer Discovery
Conduct intake for external requests/dependencies following standard process
Generate preliminary list of features including customer-centric, business mandatory (e.g., compliance, billing, etc.), non-functional requirements (e.g., metrics, tech debt, etc.)
Define epics and detailed user stories (including user outcomes, solutions, etc.)
Prioritize based on effort and impact on product goals including calculated tradeoffs on technical debt and non-functional requirements
Socialize product roadmaps and align timelines with relevant stakeholders in Big Room planning process
Iterative development
Define high level sprint goals using performance against service level objectives as key inputs
Define Story/Task level product requirements
Set acceptance criteria for features and go/no-go criteria for solution go-to-market
Iterate on solutions, epics, user stories, prototypes (update PRDs as needed)
Iterate on design and test with users (concepts, wireframes, prototypes, finalized screens)
Demonstrate new features and non-functional requirements to stakeholders/team
Measure and scale
Drive user testing and retro/reviews of beta, pilot, and full ramp releases
Track and report customer usage and product/business performance
Drive continuous optimization and improvements in the product based on analytics/insights
Refine outline of next sprint/release and go-forward optimization plan, if needed
Education
University degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
MBA would be a plus
Fluent English
Relevant work experience
Minimum: 5 years former experience in an IT related company
Product Management, Marketing or Travel Industry experience is a plus
