As part of its growth, Talend is looking for a Technical Product Owner – Cloud Data Services for our R&D team based in Nantes, France or Bonn, Germany.
The Cloud Data Services within the Talend Cloud Product is the next-generation application integration solution being developed at Talend and focused to bring cloud native deployment to transfer data between application and divers protocols but also to share data easy and secure via API’s. It leverages mature Apache project – where Talend is also an active contributor- like Apache CXF and Apache Camel but also modern deployment technologies like Docker and Kubernetes (on AWS & Azure Cloud).
The Product Owner will be responsible to define the Product Backlog for the Talend Cloud Data Application application, incl. also our Talend ESB Product, in close relationship with our Product Management team. She/He provides a clear vision and detailed user stories to the team and supports the scrum master and the team during the sprints.
Additionally, the Product Owner is the key contact point for other R&D departments, which requires good communication skills and a good product understanding and domain expertise in application integration / enterprise integration patterns.
Owner of the Product Backlog for Data Services / ESB project including the definition of priorities within the backlog.
Actively break down of new features into user stories and do timely and qualified review of bug reports.
Support the product management team in requirement management process for new releases by providing requirements, qualified feedback and estimations.
Since Data Services provides some core parts of our API / Application Integration Platform, cross project communication and expectation management is an important part of the role.
Plan the sprints making sure the user stories are ready for the sprint and accept/reject the results of the sprint
Actively support our customers with technical and usage information (e.g. via forum, Jira etc.)
BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
You worked as Product Owner, as a Lead Software Architect, a technical Scrum Master before and took responsibility for a product or project delivery.
Ability to coordinate and work with different disciples like QA, UX, Product Management, Architects, CloudOps/SRE on designs and be able to consolidate the various inputs into a consistent design and breakdown into user stories;
Good understanding of the Enterprise Integration Pattern (EIP) and practical experience in the Application Integration domain (SOA / ESB / iPaaS);
Experience in Cloud(AWS or Azure), micro-services, REST, SOAP, OSGi, JMS, Docker,Kubernetes;
Self-motivated with strong organizational/prioritization skills and ability to multi-task with close attention to details;
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in English, both verbally and in writing;
Experience in working within a distributed & international agile team environment.
Experience to do some limited Java coding on your own and good understand of the typical SDLC and related tools like git, junit, maven, Jenkins and others would be a plus;
Practical experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows would be a plus.
