To deliver in time our customers, the electronic products / systems used in our trains and signalling systems, and to maintain them during a long period (10 to 40 years) with efficient aftersales services,

we shall manage lot of information related to electronic components and functions we purchase on the market. For that, we have developed specific tools/database to manage technical datas / metadata related to electronic parts.

Your job will help to protect our business against electronic component obsolescence constraints and component crisis (lead time increase).

Inside Alstom Signalling team in charge of electronic parts codification and obsolescence monitoring: Central Component Shared Service (CCSS), you will have to:

Develop tool & database to manage properties/datas related to purchased electronic parts, and to monitor obsolescence or lead time alerts (>100K active parts to monitor), with SQL, ACCESS, VBA, Java, Talend

Reinforce efficient sharing of obsolescence alerts and mitigation action, inside Alstom organizations/entities in all countries, with tools like SharePoint, Teams, …

Enable Alstom employees to access easily reliable data coming from different tools /database (PDMs, ERPs, Catalogs…), with help of big data tool (millions of parts codes indexed), or Qlik, Power BI, …

Improve CCSS team performance with tools more user friendly, more automatized, better interconnected

Amongst Signaling Central Component Shared Service team, your responsibilities will be to:

Improve internal tools used to manage electronic parts regarding technical information and obsolescence status. Manage its interfaces with Alstom tools (Central Article database, Legacy tools, Service Obsolescence Management tools) and with Non-Alstom tools (Electronic Parts and Components database from data providers). Test and deliver new production release to ensure no regression. Monitor quality of data managed inside CCSS tools and their consistencies with external tools (Alstom & Non-Alstom) Contribute to improve team global performance (new functions, new interfaces, tools performances, automatization, reporting, activity indicators …) Analyze new functional and improvement needs coming either from team members, either from data quality analysis, either from technical upgrades (linked to Alstom tools roadmap or external editors: new SW release, tool migration, …). Traduce these needs in new requirements/functionalities. Implement them in appropriate tools. When changes / improvements are related to tools / solutions not in team scope, work with Alstom IS&T organization and Solution owners to ensure correct implementation. Develop services delivered by Signaling CCSS to all internal customers (easy access to data/information).

For these activities you will be in relation with :

Signaling Central Component Shared Service teams in Villeurbanne and India Data Management teams from other organizations Rolling Stock (RS), Service Platform, ... Solution Owner, IS&T, Key Users in charge of tools managing Parts (PLMs, ERPs, Parts catalogue, …) Engineering, Industrial and Sourcing people from any Signalling sites.

Educational Requirements: computer science master graduate with 2 – 3 years’ experience or equivalent.

Desired Knowledge / Experience

Development or sustaining of application based on SQL, ACCESS, VBA and programming language like Java, or equivalent. ETL tools like TALEND or equivalent. Reporting tools like QLIK, Power BI Data Sharing tools like SharePoint, TEAMS, …
