At Doctrine we proudly aim for technical excellence in all our Engineering tracks - Frontend, Backend and Data Science. To excel in building and living by such high quality standards, our web engineers have been historically focusing on either Frontend development or Backend development. As we scale and become a more mature tech organization, we believe that there is an opportunity for having people strongly specializing in both, hence contributing to a global Javascript-based web engineering strategy while providing more flexibility in terms of skills to the organization.
We are therefore looking for Senior Fullstack developers, meaning Web developers with strong technical ambitions in both Frontend development and Backend development, willing to take advantage of our all-Javascript (React + NodeJS) web landscape. On the frontend side, you will work on providing the best experience together with our Product designers. On the backend side, reliability, security and low latency will be some or your focus points. And like all our Engineering team, a passion for building the best products for our users is a must.

In this role, you will use our backend stack to:

Write NodeJS controllers for AJAX API / dynamic HTML pages using ExpressJS Work with Data Scientists to help them prepare data in PostgreSQL tables adapted to fast real-time querying in the application Write optimized SQL queries in the NodeJS app to get the data Write ElasticSearch queries in the NodeJS app to search the indexed data
You will also use our frontend stack to: Collaborate with Product Designers to iterate on the design and implementation of our product Build reusable UI components with all the power of the React/Redux ecosystem Consume internal APIs exposed specifically for the needs of our Frontend Ensure the best experience, both for our users and in terms of SEO
And globally as all Engineering contributors you will: Mentor and challenge your peers Educate others to best practices in use in the company and elsewhere Participate to all our in-house rituals for knowledge sharing Contribute to hire other outstanding colleagues

For these responsibilities, we are looking for teammates with:
