The team:

The RTBI solution provides our clients with Real-time Business Intelligence capabilities via interactive visual components to gain insights into their financial data.

The RTBI Apps team is responsible for building configurable web-based components and their applications. The web application follows web components standards and relies on the Polymer library to enable that.

The aim of this internship is to ensure that the web application is aligned with the latest market standards.

This consists of:

1. Planning the upgrade of the web components to the latest Polymer version

2. Upgrading the web components ensuring no regressions

3. Documenting and presenting the work done

What you'll do:

Develop an understanding of the existing polymer elements and how they are used in the application Research how to migrate across Polymer versions and describe a preliminary migration plan Implement the needed changes to upgrade to the next Polymer version based on the proposed plan Implement regression testing to ensure no features are broken and end-to-end tests are validated including cross-browser testing Document and present the work don

During this internship you will:

Learn and apply agile project planning Gain experience in web technologies including well-known open source libraries Get a good understanding of web components and their application Develop to meet the requirements of production-grade applications Experience an end-to-end development lifecycle Reflect on the various levels of testing and their appropriate usage Adopt the habit of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes

The estimated duration for the project should not exceed 6 months, including research and implementation.

Who you are:

Last year of Computer science or engineering major Knowledge of and preferably experience in: JS language fundamentals, HTML and CSS, Web frameworks Knowledge of version control and continuous integration concepts Willing to dive into technical details Comfortable leading research with some guidance Comfortable discussing in English

Following skills would be a plus:

Experience with Polymer library and web components Experience in responsive web design
