We are currently searching for a Student intern - Data Scientist to join our global Finance team, either in Eindhoven, Netherlands or in Toulouse, France. This role stands in a corner stone position, where you build/improve data-driven models using statistical and machine learning techniques and help bring new data insights for business stakeholders. The NXP Future of the Finance team works on new initiatives to prepare the full finance organization to be ready for the digital future. You will be a key player to help transform our Finance ambition of ‘real time data with no error, fully automated processes, predictive analytical powerhouse’ into reality, in close collaboration with other organizations (Supply Chain, IT, Procurement, …). Your responsibilities Data Scientist within NXP Finance: Design, analyze and interpret business hypothesis and explore datasets through using available tools Recommend ideas to business when data/results are available through good visualizations / predictive algorithms. Assist users to understand the data science principles and when needed provide an explanation for the model behavior and possible correcting actions. Gain experience in a multinational and diverse company like NXP Being a team member of a new finance initiative driving the future of the NXP finance organization, leveraging new technologies Working environment with an informal culture, a can-do mentality and career development opportunities Working on global projects with experts of that field Your profile Pursuing last 2 years of Master’s degree in Data Science or academic results in a STEM field (Econometrics, Computer Science, Physics, Artificial Intelligence), this could be substituted with excellent capabilities Eager on complex data mining, structuring & analysis. One, preferably 2 of those skills: Programming language (Python) Querying language (SQL, PQL) Nice-to-have experience with Visualization tool (Power Business Intelligence or equivalent BI tool) Modeling tool (like Celonis for Process mining, or Dataiku) Knowledge about machine learning techniques and willingness to keep it up-to-date You are curious and persistent. Your pro-active nature and hands-on mentality help you drive results. You enjoy collaboration and easily interact with your project team Good communication skills, fluent in English Project Management experience and / or SAP knowledge would be a plus
