About the team

Smart’s software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that empower our customers to reach their digital business goals. They grow in a demanding environment that values performance and high-availability: our platform manages over 10 billion auctions a day and our dataset is about 5 petabytes in Hadoop.

Our innovation team based in Paris, Krakow and Nantes is composed by 70 straightforward and energetic individuals working in an Agile environment and ready to tackle the most complex technical challenges

Your mission

Improve existing algorithms to analyse increasing volumes of data and provide accurate feedback on Smart’s activities

Build new prediction models for high dimensional data

Brainstorm with the other team members to improve existing optimization systems

Use dedicated research time to propose innovative solutions

About you

Minimum Qualifications

Master degree or PHD in Data Science or Applied Mathematics

5+ years of experience in software industry

Strong coding skills in Python and scientific libraries

Experience in an object oriented language like C#, Java or Scala

Strong proficiency in machine learning and deep learning libraries

Entrepreneurial spirit and know-how to identify opportunities of improvement

Extra Awesome Skills

Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English

Passion for reading, analysing and criticizing scientific articles

Participation in data science competitions like Kaggle

You have already worked on NLP project, or you have some knowledge on NLP algorithms

Passion for playing with large volume of data
