Summary of the role

We’re looking at a Data Scientist to join and grow the Data team of CrossKnowledge. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a global context and contributing to the development of learning solutions for millions of learners across the globe.

You will be responsible for the analysis & enrichment of operational data, the creation of reports & visualizations and the development & implementation of machine learning models. You will work closely with the product and engineering leadership team to define, scope, and build innovative solutions for our client base of hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide. You’ll also be part of the Data Scientist community of Wiley, CrossKnowledge’s parent company. As such, part of your role will require working with peers to identify already existing models that could effectively be applied in CrossKnowledge’s field.

How you will make an impact:

Partnering with business stakeholders to support our Strategy Understand business objectives and help identify business opportunities. Produce ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner. You will be expected to be a subject matter expert in quantitative analysis and to communicate complex findings to multiple audiences (Business, Product, Brand, …). Maintain and improve existing tools and decision support applications. Being a driving force for constant improvement Identify and qualify data sources, understand data sets. Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis. Synthesize large amounts of structured and unstructured data. Add new data points. Identify, extract and structure datasets to derive meaningful insights. Mentoring and influencing Develop Data Science products at CrossKnowledge (recommendation, clustering, sentiment analysis, attrition scores, NLP...). Conduct Need analysis with business/brand/product teams, propose solutions and integrate solutions in CrossKnowledge’s ecosystem Develop statistics and machine learning algorithms for CrossKnowledge to optimize its operations through predictive models Leading our best practices Create, track and improve the performance of existing algorithms Improve the data tools helping to take decisions, manage and monitor business Analyze Web Analytics data (Adobe Analytics) Data team interaction Technical monitoring and sharing with data team Contribute to developing the data scientists team by proposing innovating POCs in the field of data science Contributes to supervising the data engineer activities (attribute selection, data cleaning, data integration, formatting and feature engineering)

We are looking for people who:

Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related scientific field. PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or a related field Proven record of accomplishment applying data science techniques Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (100K to Millions of rows) of data Experience writing complex SQL queries Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools like Power BI Experience with data modeling, data mining Experience with R, Python (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy) Good applied statistics skills including distributions, testing, regression, forecasting, stochastic optimization, etc. Ability to select an appropriate technology & model to solve a problem Strong troubleshooting and support abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to interact, communicate, present, and influence within multiple levels of the organization. Ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and strategies, and a high tolerance for ambiguity Embraces challenges and thrives on solving tough problems Ability to prioritize and stay focused within a dynamic, fast-paced environment Proven ability to deliver successfully on multiple assigned projects and tasks Ability to lead, manage, develop, and influence highly productive and collaborative teams Ability to drive and exemplify a collaborative and creative culture Proficient in English and French
