ð Context

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will join the Data Science team and lead the “Credit risk modelling” domain. Credit risk modelling is at the heart of Younited’s strategy as it directly contributes to product innovation – instant granting -, revenue hypergrowth, and risk management. Strategic partners such as Microsoft, Orange Bank or Apple have chosen us for our capacity to build innovative and high performant credit risk models helping them to provide new type of funding or increase their market share.
As a senior data scientist at Younited, you will be in charge of the development and deployment of all the credit scores used in our Direct and Via Partners (B2B) business.

Your responsabilities :

Develop highly performant models using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and leveraging our PSD2 (open banking) data,
Deploy our models in our platform using tools and guidelines defined by the ML Engineers,
Understand the role of the credit scores in the decision engines and identify limitations and improvement ideas to maximize business impact for the Direct and Via partner lines of business,
Drive the credit score roadmap prioritization based on business impact and model risk,
Exploit the full potential of external data sources for credit scoring available on each market (credit bureau, sociodemographic segmentation…),
Enhance the credit score development methodology,
Improve the credit scores ongoing monitoring (expected vs observed performances, population drift, data quality),
Manage a team of 3 data scientists and expand it to support Younited’s growth.
The credit scores are at the heart of our decision engines. Thus, you will have to work closely with most of the teams at Younited: credit management strategy, credit portfolio management, model risk management, but also Lines of Business, Product and tech teams.

You want to lead a strategic topic like credit scoring while keeping hands on the implementation,
You have a, engineering background or similar with a Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field (statistics, machine learning or mathematics),
You have 5+ years of experience in a credit risk modelling environment,
You have an experience in managing/leading data scientists,
You are proficient in SQL & Python,
You are energetic, enthusiast, rigorous and a team player.
