WHAT YOU’LL DO
This role will lead the France Market Reputation team and be responsible for developing and executing a marketing strategy that strengthens Bain’s reputation in France, in partnership with office leadership and aligned with firm strategy & commercial objectives. It will focus on increasing Bain awareness among senior executives and the highest value French business communities on topics that are relevant across clients, and reinforcing Bain’s brand as the leading consulting partner to ambitious business leaders and employer of choice for the best business talent.
In addition, this role will add value by providing marketing guidance to the Bain France leadership team and acting as a strategic thought partner for senior marketing colleagues across the region. The person in this role will collaborate with other marketing teams to achieve Bain France’s marketing ambition and our firm-wide objectives. As part of the role, this individual will coach and develop marketing team members to build expertise and optimize investment across channels. Finally this leader will build a culture of innovation to evolve our marketing strategy in France over time.
Develop and own marketing strategy for France
Build marketing strategy and define supporting initiatives in collaboration with local Office Head & Marketing Partner
Proactively suggest ways to collaborate with and leverage Practice Marketing, Account Marketing, and Center of Excellence initiatives, resources, and tools
Develop view on optimal mix of topics/activities to further Market Reputation mission and effectiveness. Work closely with French leadership to build brand awareness and develop relationships with senior client executives, alumni and non-executive directors at priority companies
Develop specialized program(s) and tactics, including mutually beneficial 3rd party collaborations focused on priority topics
Enable frontline relationship building efforts with C-level clients
Manage corporate communications, marketing campaigns and supporting activities
Design based on optimal mix of topics/activities and sequence to optimize impact
Leverage & adapt global and regional campaigns, as relevant
Identify relevant 3rd party partnerships, sponsorships, and conferences & events. Manage strategic partnerships and vendor relations.
Develop proactive and reactive media strategies, working with global/regional PR team to ensure Bain is top of mind with key local and international media
Own, plan and execute marketing activities in service of the strategy, to include
Content: Leverage and tailor global content to local community needs, distribute in local market(s), and manage local agencies and providers.
Digital: Own and ensure relevance of digital presence and channels: Web content, partner profiles, LinkedIn bios, content distribution, etc.
Events: Design, plan and execute a full calendar of market reputation events, webinars, and forums, inform and support Conference & Events Center of Excellence efforts in market as needed.
PR & External Communications: In partnership with the global PR team, manage all France PR activities to establish and grow Bain’s presence in most influential business media (traditional and emerging). To include collaboration with general media, premium publications and local PR agencies as needed. Help frontline leaders build a public profile focused on expertise.
Alumni: Develop and oversee local alumni segmentation and engagement strategy, including communications and events that support and augment/dovetail with Market Reputation, Practice and Account marketing efforts
Develop junior marketers to ensure understanding of Bain’s business, expertise development in most critical channels, and execution that supports marketing and commercial objectives.
Develop and deploy resources in support of strategy
Ensure approach is consistent with marketing ways of working, leveraging technologies, assets, and expertise across the firm
Manage the budget, annual planning process, and ongoing process improvement
Work collaboratively with other Marketing functions to ensure plans are aligned/complementary to achieve firm goals
Manage collection of data on local market intelligence, Market Reputation KPIs
Represent Marketing within the Paris office and wider Marketing network, specifically:
Active participation and collaboration with peers as part of EMEA Market Reputation team
Teaming with global functions and centers of excellence
Undergraduate degree, specialization in marketing
8-10 years of relevant B2B marketing experience
3-5 years of people management experience, successfully developing others
Proven track record in similar role
Broad expertise and experience in marketing programs and processes
Ability to proactively conceive and suggest new approaches and solutions, influence senior leaders on key strategic issues
Also, to provide advice to regional marketing leadership on programs and processes
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, multi-tasking and prioritising as needed
Client-centric mind set
Ability to understand and work with consulting content and thought leadership
Strong written and verbal communication skills, both in French and English
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
Role model in Bain Operating Principles
Professional services marketing experience, or other sector(s) with content marketing focus
Experience working or engaging with senior executives (e.g., SVP, C-suite, etc.)
Relevant agency experience, or other developing impactful B2B campaigns with focus on premium media and digital channels
