The Position

Responsable Achats Matières Premières Stratégiques (Category Manager - Strategic Raw Material)

Job Summary

NB: The creation of this position is a result of the transformation project which is currently undergoing an information-consultation process with employee representatives. The publication of this position is part of the transformation project an shouldn't be considered as final. The objective is for employees whose positions no longer exist in the new proposed organization to identify potential new roles that they could benefit from once the information consultation process is finalized.

JOB SUMMARY

The Category Manager for Strategic Raw Material will be in charge of defining and executing the raw material
sourcing strategy for the extremely strategic raw material in his/her scope based on the Business Area need.
The scope is Alternative alumina & alternative fuels (~10 suppliers), biomass (husk, wood, peanuts…).

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The key Tasks & Responsibilities are the following :

Define and Develop Imerys Alternative alumina & alternative fuels sourcing strategy for the short and long term Build and maintain strong relationships with the Alternative alumina & alternative fuels suppliers. Effectively negotiate to get the best prices for Imerys Negotiate, create, maintain & enforce supplier contracts Analyse market trends, lead external benchmarking studies and implement best practices in sourcing strategy Monitor and forecast markets trends and issues and determine potential risks, opportunities and actions for Imerys to achieve supply continuity and best value Responsible for all SAP (ERP system) requests and validation process (validation of suppliers, implementation of prices lists, reporting, validation of PO…) assigned to his/her roles and responsibilities. Strong focus on development of new sources in collaboration with purchasing, operations & quality teams within the Business Area and cross Business Areas

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements

Solid relevant experience in sourcing & purchasing in international environment (5 year+) Master degree in Purchasing, engineering or mining background is also a plus English fluent, French and any other language is a plus
