Mission :
In an industry that is undergoing an electrification revolution, Nissan is uplifting its communications to reflect the shift in the automotive world. We are modernizing our overall approach across the AMIEO region by strengthening our communications to enhance strategic capabilities, ensure a strong network across the region, and embrace a daring approach to how we communicate. The Communications Strategic Planner will play a critical role in prioritization of key initiatives, aligning strategic focus, and ensuring the function is best positioned to support our brands. In this new role, the Communications Strategic Planner will BE responsible for building and implementing functional governance, leading and managing planning, and driving Centers of Excellence initiatives. This position will work hand in hand with all communications functions and agency partners to ensure rigor and excellence. IT reports to the Region Vice President of Communications, AMIEO.

Objectives :
- Create and implement the organizing vision of the department and drive mid-term and long-range functional planning and a modernized approach to communication that drives business results.
- Creating and maintaining rigorous functional governance, working in close partnership with Region VP Communications to ensure functional excellence.
- Ensure consistency across the AMIEO region by guiding and supporting PR representatives across the markets and within the central team regarding longer range priorities.
- Manage the Communications Centers of Excellence, cross-functional working teams created to drive best practices and leverage strengths across the region.
- Close collaboration with Management Committee Chairperson office and other executive teams to drive forward an integrated strategy and governance.
- Strengthen and protect Nissan's brand and reputation.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Create governance for functional meetings and reporting that add value to the organization; ensure communications is present in the right forums.
- Drive a long-range strategic plan backed by a modern and daring vision for the function and the business.
- Act as guardian of the communications function and serve as the voice of its strategic approach and initiatives.
- Work with the markets and central teams to lead strategic thinking and ensure consistency.
- Understand what's going on in the business by working with executive teams and other functions, and propose ideas and solutions on how communications should BE working to drive business objectives.
- Enhance Communications Centers of Excellence to ensure added value, best practice sharing and leveraging regional strengths.
- Manage central communications tools and actively seek opportunities to modernize in order to ensure closer collaboration and better results.

Background & Experience

Required competences :
- The right candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in journalism/ storytelling/communications with experience across the various communications disciplines as well as geographies.
- Big picture thinker with a strong understanding of the business, communications and future vision; a champion of a modernized approach to communications and storytelling.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to multitask while working with multiple stakeholders, and possessing strong project-management aptitude.
- Highly motivated problem-solver with exemplary leadership skills and sound strategic judgment.
- A collaborative team builder, within and across functions on both leadership and team levels, who can understand and foster a multicultural, inclusive workspace.
- Creative and daring mindset, not afraid to try out new approaches and ideas.
- Positively motivated, excellent at building trusted relationships and willing to support projects outside of own scope.
- Ability to understand and communicate about a broad-range of automotive, technology, brand and business topics.
- Exemplary English language skills- Passion for news, social media, consumer media and employee communications trends.
- Availability and flexibility to travel.

Specific Profile and experience

We are looking for someone who can balance the day-to-day functional organization elements with a keen eye for driving strategy - who can see the future of communications and set the function on a strategic path to achieve success. This person must BE agile and flexible, managing to an every-changing news cycle and working across multiple stakeholders, while also BE able to prioritize the strategic vision of the function. Curious and daring, able to follow trends, results oriented, ideas-focused, and team mindset are keys to success.

Required experience as a key member of an international communications team, the role demands a strong understanding and experience in communications as well as in business, as well as top-notch interpersonal abilities. The Communications Strategic Planner must BE able to understand and work with an extended multi-cultural communications team across Europe and an absolute requirement for creating and driving long-term strategy, strong organizational rigor, and ability to clearly measure and monitor deliverables.
