Job Description


Strategic Purpose of Role:
1/In charge of defining Martell’s global communication strategy and implementation which include PR, influence, corporate branding and crisis communication.
2/Manage and execute Martell’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and initiatives as well as amplification plan.


Scope


Reporting to: Head of Engagement


Team Management: 2x full-time, Influence manager and PR & Event Manager


Key Relationships Internal: Portfolio, Content creation, Insights, AOC, Legal, HR, PR affiliates, HQ (Communications and S&R)


Key Relationships External: Journalists, Influencers, Agencies, KOLs


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities


PR/Media strategy, Influence programmes & Eventing


1/ Define and coordinate PR & influence strategy with Senior PR & Event Manager to trade and lifestyle press, influencers: press trips, events, ITWs.. Proactively monitor all company activities with a view to identifying communications opportunities that meet business objectives
2/ Manage the public relations policy which includes:
- Executing public relations and corporate communications programmes to enhance Martell’s corporate image and reputation
- Enhancing relations and communication with key stakeholders, i.e. media, consumers, customers, business associates, NGOs ad industry Key Opinion Leaders by creating an understanding and support from them for Martell’s decisions and actions
3/Partnerships and sponsorships: oversee strategy and execution with a focus on scaling our branded content, expanding our paid media efforts, and supporting the markets in their adaptation of our global strategy to their local specificities


4/Events and experiences related to media and influencers. Coordinate brand exposure to international media and influencers for global launches.


S&R and Corporate Communications


1/ Contribute to the development and execution of the strategy for Martell’s areas of engagement in Sustainability & Responsibility, creating a 360 platform and suggesting new ideas and opportunities for the brand and the company


2/Activate and amplify Martell’s Sustainability & Responsibility action plan both internally (Group level) and externally.


Gather S&R related stories, milestones, achievements from across the business globally and ensure they are leveraged appropriately externally


3/Develop and maintain partnerships with non-profit organisations and governing bodies.


4/ Manage day-to-day relationship with Sustainability & Responsibility leaders network providing information and guidance as required, encouraging best practice sharing and helping to build a community


5/ Produce engaging assets to support the delivery of Sustainability & Responsibility engagement campaign, social media and traditional media relations, website.


Social media management


1/ Oversee overall social media strategy with influence manager, social media manager and community manager


2/Coordinate global overview of SOC in each market and competitors to bring new trends to improve the boost into global account.


3/ Give a strategic vision on content for social – briefing content production for social content needs


Corporate Communications – Crisis management


1/ Develop and implement a corporate communications plan for Martell which is consistent with and reflects the organisation’s strategic vision and objectives on the cognac industry level while maintaining an excellent reputation with internal and external stakeholders.


2/ Oversee the operation of social media portals of both corporate and brand in order to connect with key stakeholders and address queries or complaints from members of the public


3/ Create and ensure the maintenance of the crisis management system (crisis cells, alert chains, social media alerts, training of new members), prepare and organize crisis exercises


Profile



Graduate degree in Communication or any related field
Fluent in English, French is a strong plus
8+ years in the field (consumer luxury products, media, agency, corporate environment)
Experience in events deployment & planning / managing PR Plan
Maintain a network of journalists & manage them on a daily basis
Experience in creating content & defining communication strategy messaging & the way to distribute it
