Description of the job

A vacancy for a UX/UI Designer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse. You will join the Public Cloud & DevOps team within Digital Accelerator organization.

The Digital Accelerator is an integral part of Airbus' IT department and is building and operating new business platforms and services adopting new technologies, automation, digital native skills and agile ways of working to accelerate our digitalization journey. The Digital Accelerator is about making the benefits of digital technologies available to Airbus so we can bring value to market much faster, while retaining quality and scale.

Information technology in Airbus is in the process of fundamental renewal and looking to create added value for the Business through customer focussed development. UX/UI design is a key enabler of this transformation.

Can you imagine all the domains of applications a UX/UI designer can get in touch within Airbus? From manufacturing digitalisation to speed-up time to market, to specific flight operations services for airline dispatchers or maintainers, or even Apps for Airbus employees experience... They’re so many applications fields in Airbus that between internal and external customers, the UX/UI playground is incredibly vast! Plus, we work closely to IoT, Big Data, API, Cloud, E2E monitoring, all these technical abilities that can bring life to our ideas :-)

A UX/UI generalist, but you can apply either with a strong coloration of UI and a willingness to evolve on UX, or with strong skills in UX Research and Design with ability to use our Design System as UI is concerned.
We are also looking for people with super power to complement UX/UI! It can be live scribing, video making, motion design, etc ….

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

As a UX/UI Designer, you will:
‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾
o Meet project owner to take the brief, understand project need and propose adequate activities and deliverables. Explain to the project team (PO, SM, Dev) the UX approach and way of working to make sure we agree on way forward
o Understand user needs and user context using UX methods: interviews, shadowing, safari terrain
o Design and lead user-centred design workshops with UX methods such as 6 to 1, crazy 8, card sorting, etc...
o Translate insights into concepts, personas, user journeys, storyboards, system maps, user flows, wireframes, visual design and prototypes with Sketch, InVision, and other tools
o Balance end-users frictions and needs with business goals, market viability and technical feasibility with the MFT
o Incorporate user research and usability testing to iterate on product solutions
o Create and iterate on clean, intuitive, responsive digital product that allow for seamless navigation and enable easy information analysis,
o Ensure desirability of the final product to target adoption and effectiveness of use
o Be obsessed with getting the product's UI pixel-perfect and produce high-quality visual designs from concept to execution,
o Work closely with developers on a daily basis to aid implementation of the designed interface and to ensure its quality. Your keen eye for details will be what our Dev teams will depend on,
o Take ownership of the work and responsibility for its evolution

This role will involve some travel for business in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Your Boarding Pass

o Master Degree in User eXperience & User Interface design (Arts Applied background appreciated),
o Proven track record and experience in UX/UI Design,
o Strong experience:
with wireframe and design software such as Sketch and Adobe Illustrator, with prototyping software such as Principle, XD or InVision for light mock-ups and JustInMind for more representative or complex dynamic mock-ups, with other software needed for more specific activities such as After effect, Photoshop, in Web Design, o Plentiful experience with the good old-fashioned pencil and paper,
o Understanding of how technical decisions and data-driven decisions can impact the business,
o Adept at working with engineering teams to translate customer needs into viable solutions,
o Comfortable with feature and requirements definitions, customer interviews and surveys, need analysis, and competitive analysis. You are particularly adept at synthesizing these inputs into requirements definition,
o Comfort preparing and leading creative workshops (onboarding end-users in co-creation workshops),
o Advanced level of English, French would be appreciated.
