About us & the job :
Employees for this role can be based from our Berlin, Bordeaux, New York, or London office.

As a Creative Technologist, your initial mission will be to help bridge design <> development, to sprinkle our features with finesse, and to help us exceed our customers expectations. You’ll have a strong understanding of what looks and feels good as well as an ability to systematize your thinking together with our design system team. You’ll elevate our user experience to a higher standard, be its advocate in front of collaborators and peers, and help us innovate new features and ideas with a clear coherency in our craft.
You’ll be part of the Product Design & Research team at Back Market. We’re passionate about building interfaces with a user-centric mindset (of course we are). We zoom out to see the bigger picture but also understand the devil is in the details. We’re responsible for the user experience on Back Market, whether that be our customers or sellers, and through designing, prototyping, testing, and iterating, we evolve it in collaboration with extraordinary people.
We do this because we want to make the world a better place (that sounds cheesy, but we mean it). After all our goal is to offer more than just an alternative avenue to buy tech products, we want to do e-commerce differently. <3

You'll be responsible for :

Collaborating with teammates to hypothesize and ideate on new innovative experiences and creative surfaces
Using design-thinking, rapid prototyping, and development to make your ideas for unique experiences tangible
Systematizing your ideas into scalable and reusable frameworks or code
Documentation of principles and guidelines pertaining to motion and interaction
Having your ear to the ground regarding new tools and technologies and proactively suggesting improvements

You're perfect for the role if :

You have extensive experience working in a growing product design & research team and can talk about how you have worked with stakeholders to deliver impact in dynamic environments
You can demonstrate in-depth knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, understanding of APIs, and have experience with prototyping, motion, and 3D design tooling such as Framer, After Effects, BlenderYou have a passion to help our team grow.

You contribute inclusive design practices, are comfortable in voicing your opinion, and love mentoring and coaching others
You are obsessive about UI design and are a bit of a nit-picker when it comes to execution.

You know what there is to know about how to wow people with visual finesse
You think about interfaces not as static pixels but as dynamic experiences
You are inherently curious, you are idealistic but you challenge the status quo responsibility and can always find the middle ground
