Senior Digital Physical Design Engineer
The role is part of the hardware design team in the Connectivity and Security business unit within NXP Semiconductors. This team is tasked with delivering high quality solutions for mobile payment applications (Secure Elements, NFC) to demanding mobile customers. A commitment to on-time delivery and strong focus on design quality is the foundation of all we do.  The team is involved in all aspects of the design from specification to tapeout, validation, ramp to production and customer support.   

Responsibilities
•    Will work as part of a team responsible for full chip implementation of complex SoCs (RTL-to-GDSII)
•    Tasks include 
•    Floorplanning, including pin placement, power busing, placement of blocks and macros 
•    Place and Route
•    Synthesis, SDC timing constraints, Static Timing Analysis (STA) and Timing Closure 
•    Noise Analysis, X-talk Optimization and design for manufacturing (DFM)
•    Physical Verification including DRC, ERC and LVS
•    Package co-design including Power Integrity and Signal Integrity
•    CPF or UPF power intent definition and coding
•    Power estimation and tracking
•    Static and Dynamic IR Analysis
•    The role involves significant interaction with other teams in the IC design process, including analog, test, process and many others.
•    Will work on existing state of the art processes and also in process drivers (first IC to use a process).
•    The ICs being developed are complex, low power devices with significant analog and digital content (Mixed signal).
•    Security is a high priority with many innovative ways of ensuring this implemented in the physical design.
•    Products are for the mobile market which means a dynamic and fast development and release cycle.
•    Many opportunities exist for training and skill development within the team.

Profile
•    Hands on experience with P&R, Power analysis, DRC / LVS, Noise analysis.
•    Master’s Degree in electrical engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
•    A strong interest in deep sub-micron process technology and design is essential, and an ability for problem solving of complex technical problems.
•    Programming experience in TCL, Perl, Python, Scheme, Skill, and Make etc.
•    Experience of layout of ICs with significant analog content is a bonus.
