Job Summary:

Scality products allows to store, access and manage billions of objects across standard x86-based platforms to meet the most demanding digital business and application requirements. Such Multi-petabytes, multi-sites, multi-applications, multi-protocols, multi-cloud performances demanding distributed infrastructures are requiring that Scality is always on the forefront of the deployment management, containerization, and orchestrations technologies. In deed our typical deployment features hundreds of servers and thousands of drives that should be seamlessly setup, monitored, upgraded, expanded and eventually orchestrated.
Working on our next generation products, Scality teams are currently placing the User experience at the center of the product development with the challenge to provide both the most technically advanced and most easy to use product on the market. On top of this Scality is willing to ensure its customers have a coherent user experience across its products, their different generations and core technologies.
In order to deliver this vision Scality is willing to hire a UX designer that will help to improve by an order of magnitude our user experiences in every key aspect of the life of the product: from installation, management, Monitoring upgrade to expansion while in production for every persona using the product.
Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Product, this role is at the core of the product strategy and will drive frequent interactions with Customers, Sales Engineers and Support teams on the customer facing side as well as Tech-Leads, Architects and up to CTO level on the internal side.
The mission of the UX Designer will be to:
Understand product specifications and user psychology
Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback
Create/update personas definition through user research and data
Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success
Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs
Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)
Work with UI designers to implement attractive designs
Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers
Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
Skills:
Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer

Strong portfolio of design projects
Background in project management and research
Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
Proficient in design software (e.g. UXPin, Balsamiq, sketch)
Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
Problem-solving aptitude
Analytical mind with a business acumen
Excellent communication skills
BSc in Design with an appetite for technology
Interpersonal Skills:
Curious and open-minded, oriented knowledge sharing and able to create synergies between different teams
Good communication skills and teamwork, as well as ability to provide clear and organized documentation for all work performed
Passionate and current in technologies
