Entity and activity description

Energy supply (power, natural gas notably) is the most important component of the Air Liquide cost of sales and therefore of the competitiveness of Air Liquide products and services.

Société Européenne de Gestion de l’Energie (SEGE) is an Air Liquide affiliate providing energy-related expertise and services to all European affiliates (from Portugal to Russia) for the management of their energy sourcing and strategy, including direct sourcing and supply of energy.

SEGE is involved in the next wave of developments within the company strategic program, including digital transformation and commitment to low carbon growth.


SEGE is a multicultural team of 13 persons, organized as a trading desk around 3 “offices”: Front-Office, Back-Office and Middle-Office.

Back- and Middle-Offices are at the core of the energy transaction processes and the ideal position to get a very good understanding of energy management.

Missions and Responsibilities

As an Energy Business Analyst, you will be supporting the Finance team composed of the Back- and Middle-Offices, reporting to the CFO.


You will actively participate to the 4 key processes of the Back-Office :

Confirmation of energy transactions executed by SEGE Front-Office, Control of supplier invoices and discrepancies management, Customer billing, Cash-flow management.

You will also take part to the controlling activities performed by SEGE Middle-Office, including:

Analysis of energy portfolio, Develop and maintain effective simulation abilities, reporting & indicators to monitor SEGE energy activities and financial risk exposure, Monitoring of energy-related regulations.

You will as well contribute to monthly financial reporting and to the planning and forecasting processes.

Besides, as SEGE is currently performing its digital transformation, you will also be involved in the projects aiming at streamlining and optimizing our processes. In particular, you will contribute to the the adjustment of Back- and Middle-Offices processes to our recent new billing system and to the forthcoming new data source system.

Competencies and Profile

Master in finance/business administration.

Computer proficiency in the use of Google Sheet/Ms Excel.

Ability to analyze and model a business activity. Organized, and systematic to achieves goals within the timeline. Commitment to confidentiality and ability to ensure a strong protection of business data and information. Good verbal and written communication skills

Soft skills:

team player, curious, rigorous and organized, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, autonomy in work and proactiveness.

Additional information

The VIE position will be located in Brussels, Belgium, for an initial 12 months period with a possible extension of additionnal 12 months.
