Missions and Responsibilities

As Optimization Scientist you will be trained to understand the Air Liquide operations, its network of industrial assets (plants, pipelines, energy sourcing) and the contribution of analytics/optimization tools in the Air Liquide business.

As part of the Large Industries team, you will deliver efficiency gain, optimize our energy consumption and decrease our carbon footprint through the set up of optimization models.

Briefly: We are looking for an energetic and assertive high potential, motivated to apply for a job with broad (international) career perspectives.

This project is the perfect job opportunity to step into the Air Liquide world. You will get a lot of exposure and will be able to build a large network within the company, which can serve, if satisfying results, as a step up towards next challenges within the company. In particular, you can evolve to Project Manager position, Senior Analyst or Digital Product owner positions in the Benelux organisation or in other Air Liquide geographies (Europe, USA, Middle East & Asia).

In particular, you will:

Join our Digital & Data Science team to work on a strategic initiative with Agile methodology, Perform workshops with our network of operation experts to identify innovative ways to deliver value by leveraging analytics & data, Get trained on Analytics tools & scripting language (AIMMS, R, Python). Work with experts to deliver prototypes for operation teams. Act as Agile project coordinator to specify evolutions and coordinate testing. After training you will evolve to a Scrum Master role.

Competencies and Profile

Team player, Project management: you will work in an agile project mode within multidisciplinary, international and junior/senior team members. Taste for new challenges and Digital transformation Analytical Skills: You will need to be able to use data and analytical tools to propose optimisation, build models and support decision making. Communication Skills, Bilingual: English, French and/or Dutch are real plus Willing to take ownership: in this challenging project, it is crucial that the Analyst feels responsible & accountable of his/her deliverables

Additional information

The VIE position will be located in Brussels, Belgium, for an initial 12 months period with a possible extension of additionnal 12 months.
