Job Purpose
Reporting to the BU Marging Manager, you will work closely with the sales teams, the ADV department, the R&D department, the Marketing department and the commercial excellence department.
On the commercial side, you will support and facilitate all the commercial actions of the site by accompanying the growth and working on the improvement of the margin. To do this, you will work with the sales force and managers on margin analysis and improvement and on identifying growth opportunities.
You carry out a review of margins and profitability and translate them into commercial reporting.
You will also be responsible for the implementation of the price/product strategy for the marketing part, as well as the updating of the price list, according to the evolution of the costs.
Your role is to follow the product from the R&D stage to the sales phase.
Beyond this aspect, you update and follow up the customer prices as well as the discounts and rebates.
Generally, you take initiatives for improvement in all its areas of responsibility, in connection with the Financial Controller of the site.
This position can evolve towards a managerial position.
We are looking for a candidate with a higher education in finance or economics/management, such as a Business School, with a successful experience in an international BtoB industrial environment, in a financial, commercial or Supply Chain function.
He/she has a fluent and professional level of English, has a business sense and a commercial and/or negotiation approach.
The candidate must be able to lead strategic reflections, to transform these concepts into action plans and finally to federate the teams
Job Dimensions & Scope
Financial: Sarrebourg turnover = 75M€
Process: ENS Negotiation, Contract Management, Costing and Pricing, Team Lead to outperform Amcor returns
Complexity: Commercial & technical responsibility to limit churn and maximize growth with existing and new customers
Scope & Geographical spread: Europe – Dairy flexible packaging
Principal Accountabilities
Commercial Management:
Business development: follow all NBO/NBI projects and contribute to the growth of the bouillon cube business.
Support, prepare and convince sales managers and executives for the right commercial initiatives (margin analysis, identify / assess opportunities for growth and margin improvement)
Support sales community with product management and value propositions for the sales pitch
Prepare and lead site margin reviews, support plant business reviews, partner with sales and facilitate cross functional relation ship between Sales / Customer / Site
Contract management: prepare full business cases, participate in negotiation process, give input in contract reviews
Commercial reporting and translating Amcor's commercial strategies/tactics into the site action plans
Commercial assessment in connection with large complaints and other disagreements
Support commercial discipline (CRM update, Delegation of Authority)
Follow up, support, facilitate all commercial actions on site (Growth / margin improvement) and align with site finance controller on financial impact to be reflected
Support commercial activities to achieve a positive EBIT commercial bridge in the scope
Tactical Marketing:
Setting up price / product strategies with Marketing, Pricing and Commercial Excellence,
Support pricing preparation of complex costing exercises for tender management
Value Plus and other margin enhancement activity
Business Support:
Product management for innovative products with Marketing support
Turn product development from R&D into a launch plan to ensure smooth new business on-boarding
Support early-stage idea generation from R&D and transform customer needs into development projects
Business support and –development, technical sales support
Profitability analysis (PMDB review)
Manage escalation process in critical complaints both service and quality wise
Action plan to improve margins (linked to PMDB or internal CI type improvements)
Continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of responsibility
Sales budgeting, - forecasting and follow-up of action plans to achieve targets in turnover
Participate in Forecasting process (risk and opportunity detection) and action plan in collaboration with sales team
Update customers prices (material tracker) + Silverstar follow-up
Contract renewal, preparation of Pre-validation form (preparation of business case for central validation)
Follow-up of price concessions / rebates (Goldstar)
Responsible for the sales forecasting part (high level view/knowledge of markets/prices etc...) allowing a critical view on the Proxima and factory forecasts
People Management & Organisation:
Set commercial strategy to ensure alignment of team on different targets
Inspire & motivate teams to outperform
Development of talents and support people growth
Develop commercial thinking across different areas of the manufacturing site
Continuously reinforce close collaboration and build relationship with key stake holders of the Amcor organization
Keep close direct contact to customers with support of account managers to improve customer relationship
Communicate effective and transparently
Sales support (link between Sales and Plant): role of facilitator/accelerator/timer
As a member of the plant management team, participate in the elaboration of the plant strategy
Qualifications/Requirements
Formal Qualifications and Experience
University degree in applied economics, business administration or a related field
Fluency in French and English; any additional language could be a plus
Several years of relevant sales, commercial or business development experience in B-to-B markets
(in the packaging industry) would be a plus)
