Job Summary*
Responsible for performing primary data analysis, developing, and monitoring financial budgets and reporting key performance indicators (KPI), and providing insights regarding the performance of Cruise Hotel Operations initiatives. Analysis of data and recommends opportunities for continuous improvement. The Business Analyst Cruise Hotel Operations will directly assist the Manager Shipboard Accounting and Senior Operations team in the financial planning and operating of the Yacht(s) assets.

Essential Functions
Financial Planning

Knowledge of and ability to develop and comprehend operating budgets and forecasts of varying complexityWill serve as internal customer support, collecting business needs and providing analytics and intelligence accordingly to business owners across various departments.Will identify new business opportunities or potential risks based on data analysis on subject matters of various operations departments.

Business Intelligence

Will work with various operations departments, the IT development team, and company executives to provide compelling and actionable data-driven insights.Identifies problems, research alternatives, prepares presentations, drives solutions, gains consensus, and implements solutions for multiple processes within multiple functionsAbility to effectively conduct research, compile data, prepare reports, present findings to managementGathers raw statistical and narrative data and other helpful information upon which operational decisions may be made with some reasonable assumption of safetyOrganizes raw statistical and narrative data into clear, concise, and understandable informationWill build reports and dashboards and provide analysis using SQL, Microsoft Excel/VBA, Tableau, or other data analytics applications and tools.Reporting may include customer behavior and trends, operation optimization, segment/program profitability, as well as various individual and departmental KPI's.Conducts research designed to identify changes in guest needs, the onboard guest mix, and industry competitive setAssists with special projects and studies, which are designed to assist the executive team in the decision-making processDevelops concepts/projects, makes recommendations which are designed to increase gross operating ProfitThe ability to use independent judgment in identifying the root cause of problems and developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate to large scope and complexityFulfill ad hoc and recurring reporting requests as organizational data SME. Ad hoc requests will require diagnosing the request and identifying the appropriate data sources for Business Intelligence to fulfill those requests

Data Management

Will be involved in adding and integrating new data sources to the data warehouse by exploring and identifying logical relationships among multiple database objects.Will work as a liaison between business and IT on database validation, ETL audit, and business logic that comprises the enterprise data warehouse.

Financial Planning

Competency
Education:

Bachelor's degree in MIS, Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics or related field, or foreign equivalent.

Experience:

Three to five years of experience with business development, agreements, diligence, and other corporate development-related work.Prior experience in the cruise or hospitality industry is preferred.

Skills:

Analytical orientation and strong problem-solving skills.Exposure to statistics software (JMP, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, or similar)Experience in building data visualization dashboards using Tableau or MicroStrategy.Database experience: SQL, MS-SQL, Teradata, Oracle, MS Access, or similar.Strong MS Excel skills required: charts/graphs, pivot tables, advanced formula creation, and data manipulation.Competency in Microsoft Office suite with excellent skills in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPointCurious, internally motivated self-starter with the ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to manage multiple projects and achieve results.Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Work Environment
Works in a typical office environment with quiet-to-moderate noise generated by computer printer, fax machine and light traffic. Travel as needed.

Physical Demands
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. May require lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office equipment.

Expected Hours of Work
The position is fulltime and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours.
