AlpInvest Partners is a global private equity investment management organization. Since its founding in 1999, AlpInvest has invested across the private equity spectrum, and today includes large and middle market buyout, growth capital, and venture capital, as well as mezzanine and distressed debt, in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, emerging markets and other non-traditional markets. AlpInvest’s activities cover a range of private equity investing, including primary fund commitments, co-investments, and secondary investments. The firm’s investments span the range of private equity, with commitments to more than 600 buyout, venture capital, growth capital, and distressed funds managed by more than 300 sponsors. As of December 30, 2017, AlpInvest managed over $44 billion of client assets on a discretionary basis. AlpInvest operates as part of Carlyle’s Investment Solutions segment. Investment Solutions helps clients meet their objectives through tailored portfolio construction and implementation. The Investment Solutions platform gives investors access to the large and complex universe of alternative investment strategies—private equity and real estate—on a global basis. AlpInvest offers customized private equity investment solutions to investors through separately managed accounts and commingled product AlpInvest employs more than 150 people and operates globally with offices in Amsterdam, New York, San Francisco, Indianapolis and Hong Kong.
