ICAN is a translational research institute bringing together cardiologists and metabolism experts, to enter the era of precision medicine in the fields of obesity, diabetes, NASH, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular diseases. Located in the heart of the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital, the institute comprises 14 research teams, 5 clinical units, 120 researchers, and 202 clinicians. ICAN’s goal of research excellence is supported by five cutting-edge technological core facilities and very large well-characterized stratified patient cohorts. ICAN’s patient-oriented approach aims to engage both patients and the community to play active roles in their own health.
