Founded in 2000, ADP Ingénierie is the Architecture and Engineering subsidiary of Aéroports de Paris (ADP). ADP Ingénierie is in charge of airport projects and major equipment made beyond the Paris region and has been involved on more than 700 airport in over 100 countries on every continent.
The airport business analyst will belong to the Strategic Planning Department. This department is responsible to support Airport Stakeholders to achieve their strategic plan for their future airport business development.
In the frame of a Master Plan study, most of our customer require ADPI to support them on different topics such as strategic, technical, environmental and financial aspects.
The airport business analyst will be in charge of financial related topics in order to address customer's needs. The global strategic team will provide technical requirements for the development of an airport. This study will be based on traffic forecasts, market trends, socioeconomic and geographical factors, etc. In accordance with this technical study, the airport business analyst will be responsible for delivering as for example:
Funding scenarios considering:
Ability to fund needed capital
Identification of opportunities and challenges for private sector investments
Opportunities for Design / Built / Operate / Transfer scenarios
Assumptions about the weighted average cost of capital
Business Plan including:
Break Even Analysis
Projected Profit and Loss
Projected Cash Flow
Projected Balance Sheet
Thanks to benchmarked data and personal knowledge of economic factors in the airport industry, the airport business analyst will be able to provide assumptions of costs and revenues to support the financial analysis.
As per example, this analysis will integrate cost and revenues data such as:
Costs:
Capital Cost Analysis
High level cost assessment for each plots and facilities described in the Master Plan. Value of initial investment, timing and value of further expansions
Annual heavy maintenance projection
Assumptions can be derived from a historical performance or according to a bottom-up approach.
Staffing Plan (high-level manpower estimates based on benchmarks or operator and stakeholders inputs)
Operating Expenses
Operational wages if local working force (or expatriate if not available locally)
Average staff cost, bonus policy, wage increase policy
Utilities expenses (electricity consumption kwh and price of kwh, water consumption m3 and price of m3, gas consumption m3 and price of m3)
Maintenance expense details (contracts, etc.)
Commercial services and/or advertisement
Local taxes if any
Insurance
Cleaning expenses
Security charges
Revenues / Sales Forecast:
Non-aeronautical Revenues
Duty free/Duty paid/Retail store spending per pax (SPP)
Food & Beverages SPP
Advertising revenue per sqm
VIP/CIP revenue per pax
Rental revenue per sqm (including car rental, banks, specialty stores etc)
Car park and Bus revenue/pax

These outcomes will help the global strategic planning team to provide a well-balanced solution which considers the expected costs (CAPEX / OPEX) and revenues in line with the traffic forecast and associated technical requirements.
In the frame of his mission, the airport business analyst will work in an intercultural context, dealing with customers from all over the world. Its capacity of adaptation and understanding will be much appreciated by ADP Ingénierie customers.
Business trips abroad may be required to collect data and present intermediate and final outcomes to the customers.

Strategic Planning Practices at ADP Ingénierie global level:
development and updating of tools and methods
keep up to date with latest industry trends and ensure their dissemination within the team
The business development effort (opportunity identification, client marketing, proposal preparation and presentation) in coordination with business development managers
The airport business analyst will be both expert and project manager. When the project will be assigned to her / him, he/she will have to:
Ensure client liaison and satisfaction
Ensure project performance in terms of cost/quality/schedule, within ADP Ingénierie project management procedures
