Pre-Sales Application Engineer - GC & GC-MS

As a Pre-Sales Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the GC & GC-MS Centre of Excellence in Les Ulis (Greater Paris) and will work in close collaboration with the country sales and marketing team and the broader Pre-Sales team in Europe. You will concentrate your activity in supporting technically account managers and specifically taking care of the pre-sales demonstration activities in France.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist sales managers and product specialists to meet or exceed sales quota by providing technical/scientific expertise, primarily in the areas of application, workflow development and technical support.
• Analyse customer requirements and recommends appropriate solutions.
• Provide demonstrations for enhance customers’ experience and satisfaction.
• Contribute to sales account planning and marketing activity planning in the country.
• Participate in the sales process from deal qualification to deal closure and will help the deal technical closure.
• Benchmark and follow the market & competition to identify lockout specifications (identify Agilent's competitive advantage over competition).
• Collaborate with the sales team in the development of technical sales strategies.
• Evaluate and support management on ramp to volume strategies for new products prior to release.
• Provide training to the sales force.
• Act as the customer voice to influence future product/application design that meets customer needs, including writing application briefs to highlight product capabilities.
• Prepare and deliver technical seminars to customers or potential customers and contributes to recognized scientific forums, including written, oral and poster presentations.
• On occasional situations, contribute to post-sales activities that require special attention.

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated individual with the following background:
• University Degree (ideally a PhD) in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc…) 
• Significant hands-on experience with GC & GC-MS (SQ/TQ/QTOF) in sample preparation, acquisition and processing analytical software.
• Experience in areas like Food, Environmental other applied sciences would be a plus
• Full proficiency in both French and English
