Business Development Manager (m/f/d)

As AMETEK Business Unit, IntelliPower designs and manufactures Rugged UPS Power Protection Solutions serving a wide range of defense and industrial applications around the globe.



POSITION SUMMARY: 


The EMEA Business Development Manager (BDM) m/f/d  oversees the development of AMETEK IntelliPower’s business in the assigned region.


He/She shall identify, nurture, and close opportunities in the Defense and Industrial markets in collaboration with a network of partners. His/her target will be the development of key accounts, where in addition to building relationships with key stakeholder for the long-term he shall also be able to meet the short-term booking goals, as well as generation of leads. An important part of the role relates indeed to prospecting new customers and verticals. The BDM should prove a clear ability in consultative selling in order to guide customers towards our solutions.


The position must own the strategic vision for the business in his/her assigned region. The BDM will collaborate cross functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Engineering to provide relevant guidance and visibility around market and technology trends.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Develop and execute business development / sales strategies for the assigned territory and verticals in accordance with overall AMETEK goals and objectives for IntelliPower.
Drive demand and develop sales opportunities for IntelliPower through regular on-site or virtual presence at customer, create needs, presentations/demo equipment, follow ups, technical defense of products/systems and negotiation.
Identify, develop, and manage a network of local partners (resellers, distributors, and reps)
Coordinate initiatives with Sales and Marketing as appropriate.
Maintain close contact with internal and external stakeholders to further our knowledge of product requirements, market trends, competitors, and advances in relevant technologies (VOC)
Support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process in defining a rolling forecast per product family.
Provide input to Product Marketing to help direct the development of new products (NPD)
Participate in sales funnel reviews and support in developing key account strategies.
Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate prompt responses to customer requirements.
Attend industry trade shows and seminar to prospect accounts and leads, as well as develop opportunities
Main KPI: lead generation, close ratio, bookings, pricing, forecast accuracy, and others as needed
Main processes: Funnel management, NPD, SIOP, VOC
Domestic and International Travel ~50%


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related technical degree
Five+ years of experience in a business development role, with preferred experience in target markets (defence, heavy industry, mining, ship building, transportation, vehicles and equipment) and with experience in direct and indirect sales
Fluent in French and English, other language skills are considered a plus


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:



Demonstrated success in the management of key accounts
Ability to work effectively in global cross functional teams and to influence cross-functional teams
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Digital savviness: CRM, Windows Suite
MBA preferred
