European Sales Manager


AMETEK PDS is seeking a highly strategic Sales Manager with a proven track record of success to join our business unit.  This individual will join a global, multi-site business unit that designs and manufactures highly engineered aerospace electronic and mechanical systems for aerospace and commercial applications. This position will embrace the overall company growth strategy, define, and lead the sales strategy, and direct all sales activities in Europe and the Middle East. This position will serve as an individual contributor responsible for sales targets, trade show attendance, account management and business development responsibilities. Candidates for this position will have the ability to work from home and must be willing to travel at least 50% of the time. 


Essential Duties and Responsibliltes:



Develop and execute a short-term and long-term territory sales plan 
Develop win strategies for new business pursuits
Develop strategic customer accounts and cultivate new business opportunities
Proactively manage all aspects of the New Business pipeline from identifying new prospects to closing new business wins
Identify new products and adjacent market opportunities
Perform tactical functions: prepare multiyear quote proposals, manage sales/engineering/customer interface, establish pricing, perform negotiations, manage customers and perform marketing analysis
Manage relations with outside reps and intercompany AMETEK sales team
Communicate BU goals, objectives and feedback
Ensure that Sales Channel supports new product development goals & the growth objectives of the business
Establishes and maintains key customer relations and ties to new development programs
Support financial and territory reporting including forecasting, budgets, and quarterly reporting requirements

Education



Technical/Business Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience 
DESIRABLE:  BSEE, BSME, or MBA

Experience



5+ years of sales or engineering experience within the aerospace industry required.
Demonstrated strategic thinking, planning and program implementation skills
Proven leadership ability to influence and proactively develop customer relationships
Self-motivated and driven with strong organizational and solutions-oriented selling skills
Knowledge and understanding of AC/DC Motors, Electrical/Mechanical Actuators, and Aircraft power and electrical systems is strongly preferred
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Extensive experience with developing project plans, coordinating projects, communicating changes and progress, completing projects on time and budget, managing project team activities
Advanced written and oral communications skills
Approximately 50% of the time will be spent at customers, AMETEK locations and supporting sales meetings
Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Prior experience interfacing with Design Engineers

Experience working in a fast-paced environment and able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work in a lean and always evolving environment and easily adapt to changes
Strong problem-solving skills
Owns decisions (no excuses)
Data-driven decision making
Unquestioned integrity and personal values
