Senior Commercial Counsel - Enterprise Sales (EMEA)


The Legal team supports Datadog's rapid growth by providing a wide range of legal services across a highly dynamic technology company, from driving new business via contracts and compliance efforts, to protecting Datadog's intellectual property. Datadog's Legal team collaborates with virtually every team across the organization, from engineering to product to marketing.


Join our global Sales and Alliances legal team to partner with sales and other internal stakeholders to act as a trusted advisor, with a primary focus on supporting the sales organization in negotiating revenue generating deals for Datadog enterprise customers.  This role will be based out of our headquarters in Paris and reporting to the Assistant General Counsel for EMEA.

What You’ll Do:



Review and negotiate customer subscription agreements and ancillary documents such as DPAs across our various geographies.
Partner with a seasoned legal team to provide practical and decisive guidance to internal teams. 
Support the ongoing improvement of our contract templates, playbooks and processes.
Collaborate with other teams within Legal and across the company to support Datadog’s acceleration of revenue generation and reduction of risk, including product legal, support, deal desk, and privacy.
Anticipate relevant upcoming legal and regulatory changes in EMEA and contribute to the update of our internal policies & positions.

Who You Are:



A natural-born negotiator, communicator, and educator with at least 6 years of relevant legal experience with technology commercial contracts.
Looking for an opportunity to partner with and learn from seasoned legal professionals as we continue to support Datadog’s rapid growth.
Someone with integrity, excellent judgment, and a high degree of emotional intelligence; you are prepared to build strong collaboration channels with peers and stakeholders across the business and ready to identify pathways to success with our customers.
Comfortable working independently, adhering to established processes, and able to recognize when you need guidance. 
Excited to drive contracts to closure and are comfortable partnering with clients in sales, where you will work on multiple deals at the same time while meeting tight deadlines.
Used to successfully discuss and negotiate with strategic and large European customers. 
Familiar with SaaS and passionate about all related technology areas, including privacy and intellectual property. 
Licensed to practice law with a bar admission in Europe.
