Role Title: Business Development Manager - Reinsurance

About the Role:

·        To develop and continually evolve the LM Re distribution strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Design and implement a strategy for the development and retention of business across the reinsurance pillar.

·        Confidently articulate the LM Re strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.

·        Provide innovation to support and drive the LM Re strategy.

·        Deliver a first-class service in respect of business forecasting and result analysis.

·        Oversee the implementation of business plans, and the performance of brokers against targets, taking appropriate remedial action, if required.

·        Manage renewal defences and new business pitches where needed.

·        Ensure appropriate company representation at all relevant major events, and also at informal functions.

·        Drive adoption of relationship matrices across LM Re and maintain own relationship matrix.

·        Drive culture of pipeline creation and pipeline meetings.

·        Promote adoption of Salesforce across the LM Re reinsurance business.  

·        Prepare regular and ad hoc reports/ presentations for the BD and RI Exec where required.

·        Design and implement a cross-sell approach on existing clients and new business prospects.

·        Keep up to date with broker changes e.g. joiners, appetite, wins/losses and notify wider Business Development team and Underwriters.

·        Keep abreast of market changes and competition and feed back to the business.

·        Investigate new broker opportunities.

·        Performance manage underperforming brokers.

·        Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity.  LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules, Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.

Skills and Experience:

·        Capable of development of strategic Broker distribution plans.

·        Ability to engage and motivate all levels of internal stakeholders.

·        Ability to develop and maintain senior Client and Broker relationships.

·        Bilingual in French and English, other languages could be beneficial (Spanish, Italian)

·        Fully PC and technologically literate.

·        ACII qualification desirable, but not essential.

·        A sufficient level of numeracy and ability to compile and analyse revenue and other data, drawn from a range of systems.

·        A reinsurance background with a high level of market awareness, A clear understanding of the company’s strategic objectives, and how we seek to deliver these through operational plans.
