Manager, Business Development, New Payment Platforms & Open BankingOverview:
You’ll be joining the Mastercard Digital Partners team in France focusing on identifying and building partnerships throughout the non-traditional payments value chain to achieve continual growth in the French market. These partners represent some of the most entrepreneurial and innovative organizations Mastercard works with today. In this team, you will support Mastercard's strategy towards new payment rails to generate new opportunities. You will report to the VP, Head of Digital Partners France, taking responsibility for New Payment Platforms & Open Banking strategy across France, working with stakeholders throughout these partner organizations to drive incremental Mastercard volume and future-proofing our business. We are looking for a self-motivated, structured problem solver with a creative outlook with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and influence others without direct authority.
Role
In this client-facing position, you will:
• Assess the market opportunity, define the business model and design the go-to-market strategy of new businesses with a priority on Open Banking & Bill Payments
• Identify prospects & partners for those solutions, drive commercial conversations and go up to the contracting phase
• Ensure the proper implementation of those projects with a role of coordination on Mastercard Product, Customer Delivery & Implementation teams.
• Develop strong relationships and an understanding of:
o the Open Banking eco-system partners including Account Information Service Providers (AISPs), Payment Initiation Service Providers (PISPs), Open Banking platforms, Financial Institutions and Fintechs involved
o the Bill Payment eco-system partners including large Billers & Biller Service Providers
• Become Mastercard New Payment Platform ambassador within Mastercard & the French arena by organizing Mastercard presence in selected associations with the support of our marketing teams & partners
• Support assessment of strategic partnerships in other aspects of the New Payment Platforms such as ACH payments, Instant Payments
• Assess any partnerships that could reinforce Mastercard's offering & positioning via strategic commercial agreements or M&A approaches
• Ensure Mastercard position wisely with the appropriate competitive intelligence approach
All About You
• More than 8 years of experience in the payment/banking industry
• Consulting experience highly valued
• Self-starter/self-motivated
• Strong strategic skillset with commercial acumen
• Ability to navigate through large organizations and influence without direct authority
• Acute understanding of the payment value chain
• Ability to think outside the box and recognise the value of alternative thinking
• Good communicator and influencer with strong negotiation skills
• Essential to be comfortable in a multi-tasking environment with the ability to give clear direction to team and customers alike
• Demonstrate strong relationship management experience throughout all levels of customer organisations
• Ability to build and maintain internal relationships with senior management and key stakeholders across the business, gaining support for the strategic direction of the business
