Job Description


Territory: You will be working closely with the Sales Leadership Team and our Enterprise Account Executives to continue our growth in the EMEA region. Fluent French and English language skills required


The Manager, Business Development will manage a team of 6-8 Business Development Representatives (BDRs) focused on increasing our brand awareness and generating new business for MicroStrategy. The key objective is to build and lead a high performing Inside Sales team, enabling the company to achieve its ambitious revenue targets. You work closely with the Sales and Marketing Leadership Team, and our Enterprise Account Executives, with a focus on the EMEA region. 


As our Manager, Business Development, you will set the highest standards and demonstrate best practice in business development activities. As a player-manager who is experienced in leading from the front, you will guide and mentor less experienced members of the team. The Manager, Business Development, will teach our BDRs how to prospect and communicate with senior enterprise executives, and teach them how to qualify genuine business opportunities, driving value beyond expectation every day.


Our BDRs form the core of MicroStrategy's ambitious revenue growth engine. They help connect senior enterprise prospects with our field sales teams through a variety of different channels. Your Focus:



Build and lead a high performing Business Development team
Act as the leader and expert for sales development within MicroStrategy EMEA, developing BDR frameworks for effective execution across this key business function
Partner with Sales and Marketing leaders to build the execution plan to hit quarterly and annual targets for revenue growth
Operationally manage the team to ensure key revenue and lead generation metrics are achieved
Work as a player-coach with a hands-on approach, and serve as a mentor and a role model for the team
Demonstrate excellent sales leadership skills to train, develop and nurture the team members to achieve excellent performance and overachieve on targets
Create an environment where success is celebrated, results are met and learning from others is actively encouraged
Develop global playbooks that clearly articulate best practices for building a world class demand generation engine and to optimize the sales process
Work closely with the Director of Marketing to support on inbound event follow up and content downloads, and to optimize pipeline generation through additional outbound efforts
Drive pipeline and revenue for MicroStrategy, in line with our ambitious revenue goals

By your team’s overall revenue contributions to your region, as well as your team’s individual contributions to departmental objectives

Qualifications


Required Experience and Skills:



Extensive experience in building and leading successful Business Development Teams
Extensive experience in B2B Enterprise Software technology companies — preferably in cloud platform and/or SaaS markets (knowledge in the Artificial Intelligence or Business Intelligence space is highly desirable)
Proven track record as a successful BDR or AE
Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrable track record of designing and implementing effective strategies to maximize sales opportunities
Strategic thinker who is comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment
Proven track record of consistently exceeding corporate objectives and quotas
Results-driven with a passion for continuous process and service improvement
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to successfully build relationships with internal and external customers
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Self-driven, motivated and results orientated
Ability to adapt and excel in an ever-changing industry and environment
Working knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce)
Degree educated or equivalent academic/work experience
Fluent French and English language skills
Additional language skills would be advantageous but not essential (e.g., Spanish, German)
