Job Description Summary: This new role will be the Commercial Manager of the Global Merchant Lending (GML) division within PayPal Credit responsible to drive the launch & ramp of PayPal Working Capital (PPWC) in France and the Netherlands.

Job Description:

The position reports to the Head of GML Germany and into the Senior Director of International GML. Global Merchant Lending is the merchant financing division of the PayPal Credit business unit.

Primary responsibility is to drive the launch & ramp of PayPal Working Capital in France and Netherlands, and then shift into scaling and managing those markets in the coming years.

With Paypal Working Capital, SMB and Mid-Market merchants obtain the finance they need to grow, strengthen their businesses and remain loyal PayPal merchants.


Commercial Manager GML NL/FR (m/f/d)

The role will be part of a cross-functional team and partners with colleagues from numerous domains including Credit Risk, Marketing, Product, Finance, PMO, Legal, Operations, Compliance & Analytics. Close partnership with non-Credit teams such as regional Sales & Marketing teams in the France & Netherlands business will be essential to ensure that PPWC is optimally positioned and supported within our payments business.

The role can be based in Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm or Berlin.

Core responsibilities:

Leading up to the launch of the product in these new markets, the main areas of focus will be on developing the launch & GTM strategy and driving forward the project plan across all domains in partnership with key domains such as Credit Risk, Governance and Product. Activities will include refinement of the business case, developing the ramp plan, preparing and delivering materials to secure governance approvals to launch, ensuring Finance can build an accurate P&L for the coming years, overseeing an Operations strategy that provides efficient servicing support, and partnering with PR & Marketing to develop a media launch strategy Once the product is launched, responsibilities will include managing the business’s P&L and helping deliver the scorecard for Financial and Customer metrics. This includes serving as business lead to champion product & business initiatives to grow NL & FR PPWC, working with stakeholders across Credit and the enterprise in Marketing, Product, Technology, PMO, Finance, Analytics, & Operations to identify growth opportunities & capabilities, scope them, marshal resources to get them built and operationalize them to optimum impact The role best suits someone with career aspiration to operate as a General Manager, routinely deliver commercial results and influence a cross-functional team of peers & senior leaders

Requirements:

Knowledge of and passion for the SMB segment (optimally in the French and Dutch region) Experience with credit products in the region and globally is a plus Experience with and familiarity of a range of business disciplines including B2B product marketing, product development and management, financial planning & analysis, credit risk, and operations Experience navigating a highly-matrixed, cross-functional, international professional environment Strong and consistent track record of professional accomplishments Aspiration to operate as a General Manager, routinely deliver commercial results and influence a cross-functional team of peers & senior leaders Talent to leverage relationship skills and build culture for a high-performing, engaged team Collaborative, commercial attitude to drive integration with core BU and crystallize halo benefits for broader PayPal franchise Ability to work across time zones and travel periodically (primarily Europe & US) Fluent English required. French and/or Dutch language skills are a strong plus.
