Position Description


QIAGEN Digital Insights (QDI) is the division of QIAGEN focusing on bioinformatics and computational biology, offering a range of content assets, software solutions and services for the analysis and interpretation of biological data. Platforms, such as QIAGEN Clinical Insight (QCI) and QIAGEN Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA), powered by the world-leading QIAGEN Knowledge Base or the QIAGEN CLC Genomics Software platform are designed to assist researchers and scientists in extracting meaningful insights from omics data at any scale. These tools are used globally to aid in the discovery and understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying diseases and supporting advancements in personalized medicine and research.

The Bioinformatics Business Development Manager (EMEA) will fulfill a key function within the QDI business to drive strategic business development within a range of markets across EMEA. The successful candidate will build relationships with key stakeholders within industry, government and public health to highlight the benefits of QDI solutions in a range of applications and develop long-term business opportunities.


Key responsibilities:


- Identify key opportunities to build and expand the QDI business across the EMEA region


- Travel extensively across the region to meet with key stakeholders and highlight the opportunities of QDI solutions


- Develop relationships with and lobby key stakeholders within public health and national governments, as well as private industry to nurture and grow the QDI business across the region


- Identify a long-term path to revenue and support the regional commercial team achieve their financial objectives.


- Present QDI solutions to large audiences at relevant conferences, meetings, etc


Position Requirements


- Ideally PhD qualified within Life Sciences or Bioinformatics. MBA highly desirable. A background within clinical/ molecular testing or public health would be highly beneficial.


- Significant sales and business development experience within scientific industry and/or government, ideally within genetic testing, public health or related. A strong strategic commercial mindset is essential for this role.


- An understanding of the bioinformatics area and relevant applications within genetic testing and public health as well as the ability to assimilate complex information easily.


- A proactive, independent self-starter who is motivated to use initiative to make strategic business decisions with minimal input considering the wider impact to the QDI business and long-term prospects.


- Fluent English with strong communication skills, adept at presenting complex information to large audiences with the aim of developing business opportunities.


- Ability to travel extensively across different territories including Europe and Middle East, as determined by business opportunities.
