Sales Manager - Southern & East Africa


Semperit is an internationally-oriented group that develops, produces and sells highly specialised rubber products with 5 different segments. With our quality products, we have been well positioned for almost 200 years and have distributions in more than 100 countries. This position belongs to our segment SEMPERTRANS, which offers transport and conveyor belts with textile or metal carcasses. With production facilities in Poland and India, Sempertrans is one of the largest and most technologically advanced conveyor belt manufacturers in the world.


We are currently seeking an experienced Export Sales Manager to join our team in the Southern & East Africa region.


Position Overview:


As the Export Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our business in the Southern & East Africa region. You will be based in the region, with proximity to an international airport being mandatory. You will report to the Sales Director and work closely with the Africa team members.


Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and open new markets in the Southern & East Africa regions


• Sustain the ongoing business and technical development of the Africa region.


• Maintain and strengthen business relationships with existing key customers and business partners.


• Support the Africa team members as often as required (e.g., holidays, tender management process, extra workload).


We are seeking a candidate who meets the following qualifications:



Holds a Master's degree in International Sales-Business or Mechanical Engineering.
Possesses advanced proficiency in English (Level C1) and optional French language skills.
Has at least 5 years of relevant work experience in the industrial sector or with technical products.
Has worked for at least 5 years with Western companies, demonstrating a good understanding of their organizational structure, compliance, and ethics processes.
Has worked for at least 5 years in the African region, showing experience in dealing with local business partners and/or end-users.
Is willing to travel up to 10 working days per month, both on-site and at headquarters.
Has a working knowledge of IT, including proficiency in MS Office and Excel, and preferably Sales Force.
Possesses traits such as dynamism, enthusiasm, curiosity, attention to detail, and integrity.
