DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION
Reporting to the GPC&AP Sales & Marketing Director, the Business Development Manager will be responsible to plan and implement Subsea 7’s entry into the emerging markets of the Energy Transition in France and targeted countries in Southern Europe.
The Business Development Manager will proactively engage with Clients, developers, authorities, and other regional stakeholders to identify prospects and position Subsea 7 for new business opportunities for Floating Offshore Wind, Hydrogen and other emerging opportunities associated with the energy transition.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible to develop the strategies to secure early participation in pilot projects to prove technologies, identify opportunities to obtain funding support for research and development activities whilst pursuing profitable work on commercial scale developments for Floating Offshore Wind.
The role is expected to be based in France with regular travel within Southern Europe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains a thorough understanding of the evolving market, economic and geopolitical landscape across France and Southern European countries and the relationship with the group and regional business strategy
Develops and implements a Stakeholder Engagement Plan and effectively manages strategic stakeholder relationships, including participation to industry events to promote Subsea 7’s interests
Identification of all prospects in the designated region and maintenance of the Client relationship database (C365)
Development, implementation, and presentation to Senior Management of Pursuit Strategy Plans
Work closely with Market Analysts and Sales & Marketing Director to develop the regional strategy and period business planning activities
Work closely with the regional Field Development Group to secure early engagement study work in support of new business awards
Monitor and interpret market information sources: media, Government’s policy, Client strategy, Suppliers, and competitor activity

PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS
The Business Development Manager possess a comprehensive understanding of Subsea 7 and our subsidiaries services, our markets, and our differentiators. They will already possess or demonstrate their ability to develop an equivalent understanding of the new markets of the Energy Transition.
The Business Development manager is able to efficiently develop and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders and demonstrate appropriate levels of experience with business development, tendering and strategy.
The Business Development Manager shall have/be:
Committed to the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity acting as an ambassador for Subsea7
Strong market awareness and a desire to learn and support Subsea7’s entry into new markets of the Energy Transition
Able to regularly travel and work effectively with stakeholders or all levels across France and Southern European countries
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on regional objectives across multiple offices
Possess a strong work ethic, and able to work with others to deliver against demanding schedules
Able to identify prospects that align with Subsea7 strengths and where we can differentiate over the competition to secure profitable work
Able to prepare and present internal and external deliverables to a high standard
