This is a senior business development role in FBL leading the Visa Commercial Solutions team and focused on growing Visa's commercial market share and footprint across the FBL cluster. You will plan, manage and execute on delivering on spend and revenue targets for Visa selling the value of our suite of B2B products and solutions to clients.
You will have a strong understanding of the commercial payments market in France, Belgium and Luxembourg and how banks leverage multiple payment solutions to support their business customers across the small business, mid-market and large market segments.
You will be the leader for Visa Commercial Solutions in the FBL Europe region engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, establishing and maintaining senior level relationships. You will be a successful influencer and comfortable negotiating contracts from initial discussions through contracting and to implementation.
The position will manage a small, knowledgeable and focused team of business development and solutions specialists working seamlessly in a matrix-style environment.
You will need to quickly establish yourself, your team and the local VCS brand working collaboratively to achieve success. You will work closely with country and regional account executives, product and leadership teams to ensure that customer objectives are met and that regional financial targets for spend and revenue are achieved.
This lead role will partner with VCS peers across the other 5 clusters in Europe ensuring alignment on strategy, the sharing of best practice, knowledge, ideas and experience. You will also align with the local FBL Head of Business Development, ensuring strategic goals are clear and achieved.
The position will be based in Paris. Travel across Europe, particularly France, Belgium, Luxembourg and UK will be required.
Role will report into the VCS Europe Head of Sales in London and locally into the Head of Business Development, FBL. The role is a people manager position and you will also be responsible for the development and growth of staff, business alignment, stakeholder communication, buy in and execution of the local VCS strategy, planning and pipeline and ensuring resource needs are managed to ensure business unit success.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
• An experienced sales and business development leader with a complete understanding and experience of the European commercial payments industry, landscape and trends. Card scheme knowledge is preferred.
• Well established sales leader with proven track record of sourcing and delivering new business.
• Extensive contacts in the payments industry you have the credibility in the payments industry to grow and develop Visa's commercial business.
• A sales and results-focused mindset is essential.
• Open and transparent you will quickly establish yourself as the leader for Visa Commercial Solutions in the FBL market, bringing market knowledge and insight, thought leadership, sales discipline and rigour to the team, ensuring growth targets are met and building a solid pipeline to support future growth.
• A natural ability to understand and explain complex business challenges and then bring the best of Visa to solve them in a timely manner. Influencing skills are essential.
• Excellent listening and communication skills with executive presence you must be able to interface with our most senior stakeholders and have the kudos to influence and negotiate with our clients.
• Team oriented, collaborative and diplomatic with ability to influence across Visa’s matrixed structure clients, and partners.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical. Ideally, you will be comfortable representing Visa with our customers and in public forums and reflecting the Visa values.
• Education to degree level with a minimum 12 years industry expertise.
