Accounting Senior Manager (M/F)

THE ROLE:
Located in the Head office in Marseilles reporting to the Group Chief Accountant, the Deputy Group Chief Accountant will oversee a team of 50 people and coordinate accounting projects including the Shared Services Centers in India and China and multiple geographies involved on a worldwide perimeter.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Deputy Group Chief Accountant, your mission will consist in :
Managing:
Provide outstanding leadership that encourages and engages a team to deliver and play a key role in our company’s transformation, develop a team of high-skilled finance/accounting professionals, providing training, mentorship and talent management/development
Be a role model who attracts and engages talent and develops successors for critical roles within Finance/Accounting
Improving, restructuring and training:
Lead research, external developments, and implementation of relevant changes, e.g. process improvement, automation, and shared services regarding accounting technical standards and regulations that affect financial statements and statutory results, such as policies, procedures, internal controls, in collaboration with the Internal Control Department
Oversee centralized accounts processing and shared services accounting, allocations and P&L cost center reporting, also leading the implementation of new technical accounting guidance and training
Auditing:
Maintain key external partner relationships, coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audit process, with tax teams in preparation of year-end tax returns, and lead the evaluation of all significant accounting transactions : ensure timely and accurate production of internal and external reporting and the maintenance of sufficient controls to ensure accuracy of the results;
Analyzing & Reporting:
Prepare technical accounting memos supporting all accounting positions, CMA CGM annual financial statements, interim financial reports but also the Company’s quarterly Board and Board Committee meetings: challenge and understand financial information so that issues are resolved and financial results are properly recorded and presented.
PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
You are graduated from a Master / Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance with a CPA designation (highly required);
You have gained minimum 15 years of experience working in technical accounting/finance within an international corporation such as CAC40 and SBF120 companies, or audit firm (Big 4), public company and SOX;
You bring an advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions, but also a proven ability to document and support accounting conclusions;
You are creative in problem solving and able to motivate others to implement new solution in a context of an in-depth transformation project which will lead to a new organization, an overhaul of the existing process and the implementation of a new IT system;
You have proven a strong leadership and management skills to lead teams across multiple organizations while demonstrating a strategic, focused and collaborative approach, creating and maintaining effective working relationships with all finance departments and business lines;
You demonstrate strong communication skills, including an ability to translate complex technical issues into fundamental concepts, but also to work in a matrixed model, maintaining relationships with key partners at various levels.
