Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Risk and Accounting Oversight Manager to join our Hotels Team based in Paris to assist the Hotel function in a number of areas to ensure that the control framework, in particular across operational and regulatory risks, is suitably robust.

The role will report into the Hotels CFO but will work closely with a number of experienced team members as outlined below, as well as the London based Head of Operational Controls for Real Estate

The team

Schroders Capital is one of Europe's largest real estate managers with deep real estate expertise on the ground across real estate sectors. Investment strategies are offered in a broad range of open and closed ended funds, listed REITS, specialist funds, joint ventures separate accounts and real estate debt.

The Real Estate team is highly experienced in real estate fund management, research, acquisitions, asset management and strategy and sustainability and is comprised of over 200 people operating from offices across the UK, Continental Europe, Asia and North America.

Our Hotels team is an integral part of the Real Estate team part of Schroders Capital, the private market investment division of Schroders, and constitutes an important focus of the Group's strategy for expansion.

What you’ll do

This is a role that requires a team player to work alongside the various teams described above, and includes the following responsibilities: 

·        Ensure best practices and consistent approach between Schroders Group policy and procedures, including Risk Control Assessments (RCAs) and the policies and procedures being implemented at asset level by Project and Risk Team.

·       Work with the Fund  Analyst Team, Hotel Controllers and other Schroder based Operations staff in other locations (e.g. London), to ensure the completeness and accuracy of reporting of the  fund structures. Ensure oversight and controls are in place such that reporting is accurate and robust.

·      Help manage relationships with outsourced providers related to the Fund reporting and operations, ensuring oversight mechanisms/service quality standards are implemented and monitored under a consistent framework. Assist with various ad-hoc accounting requests from Hotel CFO.

·        Work alongside Real Estate Tax team and third party advisors to ensure that all tax obligations for the fund structures are fulfilled.

·        Work with the Fund Analyst Team in the set up of new hotel funds and mandates, including working with Schroders Legal team and other relevant parties to review legal documentation.

·         We may expect for the role holder to hold some Director positions on Hotel operating/ holding entities.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

·        Experience in Risk control and compliance ideally in the funds and/or real estate industry

·        Accounting background, including potential audit experience, with good financial acumen.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent French and English.
