We are looking for

A Global Trade Export Controls and Sanctions Region Manager to be in charge of deploying our Group Trade Compliance Policy and Program concerning Export Controls and Sanctions in the EMEA region

We count on you for

Enforcing the Group Trade Compliance Policy/Program within the designated region to ensure operational adherence to all relevant regulations within the function's scope. This includes compliance with regulations related to military lists, dual-use goods, drug and explosive precursors, PIC (Prior Informed Consent), ozone-depleting substances, fluorinated gases, embargoes, and sanctions

Identifying, mitigating, and monitoring any export controls and sanctions risks (reputational, legal…) and reporting them to management and the Trade Compliance Officer (TCO) of the General Counsel function
Providing operational support to Global Business Units (GBUs) and other Group Functions
Leading and developing a team of 1 to 2 direct reports 
Participating in the Group Trade Compliance Coordination Committee (GTCC) upon request
Guaranteeing new regulations and Group policies are effectively translated into Solvay Global Trade Management’s systems

You will bring

Education and experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law, International Trade, Economics, or similar
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Trade Compliance with an emphasis on Region regulations (Export and Import Controls - dual-use, military, drug precursors, explosives precursors, PIC, ODS, FGAS-, Sanctions, and Embargoes)

Technical skills

Fluency in English is mandatory. Any other language is a plus
Knowledge of Global Trade Management systems (active use of SAP-GTS) is a plus
