Reports To: Sustainable & modular seat strategy director
In alignment to the SMS strategy, and for a various, complex and diverse product scope, worldwide, the Product Manager leads the product plan process and promotes his/her product line up through dedicated events and acquisition processes for a various, complex and diverse product scope, worldwide. He provides a long term view on market evolutions and orientates the innovation strategy.
The main missions of the role are:
Understand market value:
Understand the market for a given product line: competition, technology, norms and regs, segmentation, price trend, customers, and end users
- Describe and document market and customers expectations for engineering and sales department
- Build diagnostics and identify business opportunities: growth, profitability, innovation, cost improvement
- Provide market oriented ranking criteria to prioritize our innovation portfolio
Build value offer:
- Business owner of innovation projects in his/her product field
- Provide support and orientation to innovation projects (identify the target customers and models)
- Assess the market opportunities of new offerings
- Contribute to the definition of new offerings: functions, specs, price, positioning, and market approach
- Identify adequate business model (make versus buy, partnership, supplier panel,...)
- Issue every year the product plan
- Establish the business plan and present it during innovation project milestones
Deliver value:
- In charge of bringing the innovation to the market successfully: support acquisition process, define the product communication (selling tools, demonstrators,...)
- Lead the definition of a value based pricing policy (together with costing, engineering and sales)
- Monitor the deployment of the product strategy: product improvement, footprint strategy, cost improvement, profitability
Support the Product line Strategic plan
- Prepare every year to the product plan
- Support the product line strategy initiatives (e.g. footprint, profitability, convergence roadmap)
- Support the strategic plan according to the Product line ambition
Lead Business Development Strategy
- Identify potential strategic partners (vertical integration) to increase profitability and product offer to customer
- Propose to the Product line and BG the partnership strategy and lead the validated initiatives with the potential partner
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be :
Minimum Education Level: Master or Bachelor in Engineering Degree and/or Business
Experience :
Nice to have: Has developed successfully product expertise (R&D)
Skills and competencies :
The Employee is aware and ensures the respect of the Internal Rules, Code of Ethics and Management Code applicable in the establishment to which she/he is assigned.
