Job DetailsWhat will you doA key component of the Product Manager role is ensuring that the French products supports the company's overall strategy and goals. The Product Manager is responsible for delivering a differentiated new product based on current Roadmap to market that addresses a market need and represents a viable business opportunity. Although the Product Manager is ultimately responsible for managing the product throughout its lifecycle - conception through end-of-life.Market InsightsAssess the market, product trends & gather voice of customer informationConduct sizing & segmentation of marketsAssemble regular competitive & regulatory research and analysis on product lineIs a French market expert. Market expertise includes understanding the reasons customers purchase products. This includes a deep understanding of the competition, NF standards and how customers think of and buy your product. Product Managers need market research and competitive analysis skills to complete these tasksPortfolio ManagementDevelop a multi-generational product line strategy and define the critical growth opportunitiesDetermine the value propositions and product positioning for each individual product within the portfolioCommunicate the product strategy and gains alignment with the greater organizationAccountable for measuring and reporting product line revenue and marginProduct DevelopmentDefine the product line roadmap with investment prioritizationDevelop new product concepts in existing and new markets / channels buy following a multi-stage-gate process and by running multi-stakeholder development teamsDefine product requirements including cost, quality, and timing targetsDeliver detailed business cases for new products / enhancementsSuccessfully launch products with robust marketing campaignsProduct Lifecycle ManagementLead cross functional team through product lifecycle process including introductions, product analysis, value assessment and SKU rationalization activitiesUnderstand product portfolio at a global / regional level (SKUs, pricing, profitability, sales by customer / channel, quality, warranty)Analyse sales trends per marketCommunicate frequently with sales and end customers on market and product updatesInterface with end-user, marketing, sales, engineering, and operationsRequiredFire Detection knowledge is essential through work experienceDegree in business or an engineering fieldBusiness experience, preferably in product development roleExperience in the full product development cycle through a phased-gate processComfort and experience in interacting with external global customersExperience working in a matrix business structure and working collaboratively with multiple functions on joint programsExcellent written & verbal English communication skillsStrong financial and general business acumenAbility to travel to customer sites 10-20% of timeFluent French and EnglishPreferredProven ability to drive results via disciplined execution amidst organizational ambiguityIf you are successful we can offer you a company culture that promotes work life balance, a dedication to continued learning and development, access to mental health support, a fantastic benefits package.Who we areAt Johnson Controls we transform the environments where people live, work, learn and play.
