We are currently looking for a Product Manager located in our Les Ulis office in Paris Area, France.
SUMMARY
The Product Manager will Develop and execute product roadmap for maritime fleet management solutions
This position aims at managing the Omnicom product family (fleet management solutions), including determining the associated value proposition for addressed market segments, and planning product release roadmap in coordination with engineering, sales/pre sales and marketing. Focus shall be put on identifying Return On Investment, weighing costs / benefits and market opportunities for each significant product evolution, and presenting / sharing the rationales associated with business cases.
A wide (but not deep) technical culture related to rugged electronics and processors, data networks and network administration, as well as embedded software is important, to ease communication with pre-sales and engineering. A good understanding, or a previous experience in maritime domain (either bridges, navigation systems, communication systems, fleet management / information systems) is needed, aiming at improving Orolia’s collective understanding of customer use cases and applications.
Last, in this strongly regulated domain, the ability to understand standards and related business impact, and to contribute to standard bodies working groups, is an important dimension of the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute the product roadmap
Support the Product Line Director in builiding the business plan and develop product pricing and Market positioning strategies
Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and deliverables
Provide technical content and application notes related to product
Scope and provide input to the R&D/Engineering Management for their activities, with focus on business growth and ROI
Provide input and support to the Market MarCom Managers for Market plans based on business and customer impact
Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, competitive positioning in order to identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas to grow market share and improve customer experience
Create product reports and communicate on new trends and markets to the sales and R&D
Visit customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
Engage with the the sales teams to support customers opportunities
Work closely with Engineering teams to execute product releases efficiently
Collaborate with public relations, business development, and other product management team members to effectively launch new products
Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
Represent OROLIA at conferences and industry forums
Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
M level in the European LMD (CEC level 7) – BS degree in the US, in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
Proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager
Experience in Application engineering or Sales engineering
Fluent in English and French, Arabic is a plus
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES
Autonomous / fast learner in Positioning, Navigation and Timing
Proficient in Hardware, Software and Web technologies
Knowledge of product management process, business case methodology
Proficient in document writing and structuring
Government contract experience beneficial (tenders, bidding process)
Autonomous in Product life cycle
Ability to travel / 2 to 3 days twice per month
Soft skills :
Ability to prioritize requirements in a highly constrained environment, across multiple projects that compete for resources
Ability to align and work collaboratively with many stakeholders (engineering, operations, marketing, sales, customer support), through influence, ownership and little authority
