Role:
The overall purpose of this role will be to assist the Senior Product Manager – Cloud Services in the definition, development and delivery of managed services on hyperscale public cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The Product Manager must possess a balance of business acumen and technical proficiency required to ensure that Sungard AS products and services are fit for purpose, compliant, profitable and relevant within target markets. Effective engagement and communication with stakeholders throughout the business, including other Product Management teams, Product Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Legal, will be required to successfully execute on a defined strategy.

Responsibilities:
Product Lifecycle Management – Assume responsibility for the full lifecycle of assigned Sungard AS products and services, from inception to launch and beyond.

Product Financial Management – Conduct financial analysis and reporting for assigned Sungard AS products and services to appropriately forecast and track related capital and operating expenses, create competitive pricing while maintaining profitability, determine appropriate build-versus-buy strategies and maximize overall value for Sungard AS and its customers.

Product Strategy – Contribute to the Sungard AS strategic product roadmap with products, services and enhancements that align with the company’s over-arching product strategy, create and/or maintain a position of dominance within target markets, maximize return on investments and deliver value for customers.

Business Case – Specify market requirements for new products and existing product enhancements through market research and by conducting visits with prospective and existing customers. Translate understanding of various customer needs into customer problem statements, user scenarios and product requirements. Utilize this understanding to prioritize product and service features based on customer impact, demand and market opportunity.

Product Marketing – Collaborate with Marketing to define the go-to-market strategy for assigned Sungard AS products and services.Ensure the team understands the product positioning, key benefits and target customers. This includes communicating product benefits and features, as well as product positioning and competitive analysis.

Product and Service Requirements – Ensure all product and service feature requirements are clearly defined for Product Engineering development teams. Serve as “customer advocate” in explaining the business rational and customer impact for each requirement. Partner with engineering to define product release requirements, infrastructure augmentation, capacity management and partner selection (when necessary).

Product Development and Transition – Work with Program Management to ensure all product development is managed through the Sungard AS product development process and provide timely and accurate status reporting to key stakeholders.

Operational Handoff and Review – Monitor the operational processes and procedures for assigned Sungard AS products and services to ensure they are delivered effectively, efficiently and as intended.Attend Service Delivery meetings as necessary to manage/oversee service improvement activities required to maintain or improve operational performance.

Sales Engagement – Engage Sales for feedback from customers on products and services.As necessary, support Account Executives and Solution Architects in their pursuit of sales opportunities and provide product support for complex deals.

Technical Knowledge – Develop and maintain deep technical expertise related to assigned Sungard AS products and services. This includes attainment of technical certifications and accreditations, as well as maintaining awareness and understanding of emerging technologies that might prove valuable to Sungard AS and its customers.

Profile:
AWS accreditations and/or certifications. Desirable.

Bachelor's degree or in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree or experience. Essential.

Extensive experience of working within technology. Essential.

Product management experience, preferably focuses on highly technical products and services. Essential.

Working knowledge or support of AWS environments. Essential.

Working knowledge and/or support of Microsoft Azure environments. Desirable.

An understanding of the enterprise IT services industry, particularly managed services and cloud computing. Essential.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with extensive experience in the creation and delivery of oral and written presentations, product documentation and technical specifications. Essential.

Ability to develop and effectively communicate a product vision and strategy. Essential.

Experience conducting thorough research to assess target markets, customers and competitors to appropriately define, prioritize and develop product features. Essential.

Experience engaging and effectively communicating with stakeholders from business and technical teams. Essential.

Able to effectively influence cross functional teams to achieve desired outcomes. Essential.

Experience working directly with on-shore and off-shore development teams, ensuring alignment and understanding of product requirements. Essential.

Experience evaluating third-party services and products, and when necessary, making critical build-versus-buy decisions. Essential.

Some travel will be required, including throughout the UK, Europe and the United States. Essential.

Candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and complete BS7858 British standard screening prior to joining company
