Mission

The Data Office team is looking for a strong Data Engineer to help us accelerate our Big Data Journey that includes, among other things, IoT capabilities. Your main role will be to help us support the business needs by strengthening the IoT Data usage for Aperam.

Accountabilities

As Data Engineer, your primary responsibility is to work with the Data Team:

Prepare plans and ensure implementation of data flows from the sensors to the Businesses Datasets
Plan and develop various database schemas.
Analyze all data from sources and develop logical models to be used by an ontology tool (i.e. semantics).
Maintain and develop all physical data models for data sets.
Providing technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Follow all guidelines to design an effective database.
Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets.
Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
Processing data and information according to guidelines.
Monitor all data integrity performance and adopt appropriate tools (e.g. Statistical Process Control).
Transforming data into a format that can be easily analysed
Work closely together with data architects, data scientists and the Self-Servicing BI Team.

Profile

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or IT;
Collaborative, team focus;
Excellent communication skills;
Result oriented;
At least 5 years of DataBases expertise; Ideally SAS and/or Denodo
Emphasis or specialization in distributed systems and big data;
Strong proven analytical skills;
Knowledge of a Business Intelligence reporting tool (e.g. Microsoft Power BI);
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure;
Fluent written and spoken English;
French, Portuguese or Dutch language skills will be a plus;
