DATA ENGINEER / INFORMATICS SCIENTIST (Msc or Engineer level) (F/M)

Within the Research Informatics, Scientific Data Management Group, we are looking for :

Informatics Scientist - Software Developer_Msc or Engineer level (F/M) - Permanent contract

You will be responsible for supporting development activities contributing towards research projects in collaboration with Data Managers and Scientific Staff.

Key Responsibilities or Core Accountabilities:

Provide support for the development and maintenance of scientific information systems.
Translate requirements into logical and practical system designs. Develop and maintain application testing / UAT documentation.
Ensure business continuity support: incident and operational issue solving, definition and implementation of change control.
Help/advise scientists in application use.  Develop and maintain application documentation. Participate in and/or conduct user training as required.
Interact constructively with other Research Informatics support teams and also with external vendors and solution specialists.
Ensure data quality, security and confidentiality.
Ensure the consistency of the interactions of the applications with existing and future systems with their evolution over time.
Work to improve the efficiency and functionality of current systems and products.

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities:

Demonstrated experience in programming (e.g.: Python, Java) and ETL (KNIME, Talend).
Good understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL)
Experience in back-end web services technologies (REST)
Experience in application support, communication with users and vendors
Strong inter-personal and communication skills (presentations, interdisciplinary collaboration).
Pragmatism, ability to learn quickly, methodological rigor and autonomy
Background in science (chemistry and biology) would be a plus
Fluent in English

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

Informatics or Science Engineer (or Master Degree)
3 or 5 years’ experience in relevant industry environment
