About the Role and Team:

Using data sourced from NCRs global network of supported customers, Services Enablement is a cross-functional team that was recently created to support NCRs global service organization, to improve the way they deliver maintenance services as effectively and efficiently as possible. The team is centred in Dundee, alongside the ATM Design organization, and also has strong links to, Retail Product Engineering, IT/Big Data, Customer/Sales support and Maintenance Services. The Data Scientist role, works closely with all team members (Product Engineers, Data Engineers, Process Improvement Engineers), to identify, collect, prepare and analyse data. The data is interpreted to define a view of how each individual modules (cash dispenser, coin recycler, card reader,..) performance compares to every other module, which in turn can then be used to target modules for pro-active service action. The business impact achieved by monitoring product performance, Customer availability (uptime) and the efficient utilization of services resources. The current focus is on, expanding the direct influence on the 25,000 customer service actions performed on a daily basis on NCR Financial (ATM) & Retail (Self Checkout) Products globally. The team operate in an environment where continuous improvement is the norm. You will be expected to utilize your skills/experience to challenge the status quo, and to identify and validate how new methods/approaches will improve our performance.

Your Responsibilities:

Working with Engineering team members to identify data elements that can be used to provide insight into Product performance. Working with corporate ITS/Big Data teams to obtain data from our global customer base. Working with Data Engineering team members to prepare, analyse and report, the insight that the raw data can provide into product performance. Working with CI team members to identify and improve all aspects of the Data Scientist role and processes. Utilising your skills/experience to identify and validate new and improved ways to gain insight into product performance and service effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

BSc/BEng/BA Data Science (or similar discipline)

Optional qualifications:

MSc Data Science Experience in an Engineering environment would be preferable. Experience of utilizing structured continuous improvement tools and techniques. Track record of innovative thinking.

Hadoop, Oracle, ASTER, Linux R, Python, SQL Minitab, Excel Tableau, PowerBI
