We are looking for:

A skilled and experienced engineer with a passion for industrial processes and digital transformation. Sensibility in both of these domains, process AND digital, is absolutely key, we believe this will make the difference.
You will be part of the Manufacturing Excellence & Digital Transformation Team of the GBU Materials, with a focus in the short term on the Specialty Polymers Worldwide business.
Your challenge is to maximize the value we extract from our industrial assets.  Data models structure raw process data from Manufacturing Execution Systems into Value creating Information for Digital Apps. We count on you for:

You will define, maintain, deploy, and improve the industrial data models of the GBU customizing the generic asset hierarchy models provided by Corporate DT to GBU specific focus and constraints. 
You will act as the GBU data steward as defined by the Group data governance guidelines.
You will train, coach and support the sites MES engineers and Data Managers/Stewards when matching these data models to the detailed process specificities.
You will be the GBU single point of contact to the DT & GEC stakeholders, providing GBU specific business requirements when developing & enhancing the generic Solvay data models.
You will gain expertise on MES data structuration and event generation tools like OSIsoft PI AF-EF.

To summarize, the main output of the Industrial Data Model Engineer is to produce and constantly maintain and upgrade the applicable specific industrial data models usable by all the plants of the GBU and coherent across the GBU.

This role offers a unique opportunity for you to be part of a growing GBU and participate in the outstanding Digital transformation journey that Solvay is launching through the Star Factory program.
You will be recognized as the “core” orchestrator of the coherence and standardization of digital solutions across the plants of the GBU. 
You will benefit from a large autonomy to define these data models while you will bring permanent support to the engineering teams of the GBU sites to ensure they are relevant and well adopted.

You will bring:

You must have a five-year degree in Chemical/process engineering or possibly in Information engineering.
You have already experienced the digitalization of processes and you are able to challenge and steer the way assets should be modeled.
You already gained 3-5 years of experience in an industrial context (plant, technological, R&I, IT).
Ideally, you have previous experience in asset data model construction.
You desire to improve your skills

You are fluent in English. Italian or French is a plus.

Competitive salary
The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $103,000 to $144,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.

Additional information:

Location(s): Europe or US, preferably close to a GBU site. Possibility to be working remotely.
Travel: occasionally meeting the teams on site. On average, less than 20%.
