The Pricing Strategy team are seeking a commercially minded Pricing Strategy Manager to lead on delivery of one of CHEP Europe’s Big Rocks to enhance our current commercial model and deliver on key strategic initiatives that will tackle our biggest competitive challenges. Bringing innovation and change to how we price our customers, moving CHEP Europe to a Value Based Pricing model and support revenue management and profit optimisation.




The successful candidate will collaborate with and influence Business leaders and Subject matter experts across the organisation Sales & Customer Service, and Finance, acting as a thought leader on pricing strategy, developing a vision for Revenue Management and building new business capabilities and solutions, consolidating a new approach to commercial pricing strategies that align Value & Market Based Pricing, pricing and profitability optimisation.




Major / Key Accountabilities




The pricing Strategy Manager will be accountable for 4 key elements of the EU Segmented Pricing Strategy:




Establishing the vision for Pricing in CHEP Europe and the move to Revenue Management





Defining the strategic program to move CHEP from a Cost plus to Value Based pricing strategy and Revenue Management
Driving the Pricing Strategy vision with European and Country Leadership teams
Identify and implementing pricing strategies supporting customer retention & Growth & Winback
Collaborating with the wider Strategy and Insight team to evaluate market influences of customer Value and Willingness to Pay



Pricing Analytics, developing Market Based Pricing and Customer Price Insight





Applying pricing and competitive tools to develop the “why” and “how” of pricing strategy.
Build Market-based pricing capability to understand customer willingness to pay.
Developing an in-depth understanding of the competitive pricing landscape and key trends, leading to actionable pricing decisions.
Develop Pricing Insight from CHEP commercial data and behaviours


Development of the Pricing environments to support Segmented Value Based Pricing and Costing





Lead internal change management to deliver on and support the wider pricing strategies.
Defining pricing tool requirement to support segmented costing & pricing
Ensure the Pricing Management Systems and Country Commercial Policies are kept refreshed and in line with agree pricing strategies.
Working with central commercial finance to ensure pricing tools align with customer segmented costing and pricing.



Coordination of wider project collaboration and deliverables




Collaboration and execution to develop segmented customer pricing and costing models to drive CHEPs commercial pricing strategies from Value and Market Pricing Insight, Cost Segmentation and Pricing Execution



Experience





2-3 Years relevant Industry Experience
Strong Understanding of Strategy and Pricing Strategy concepts
Pricing Change Management experience
Delivering through others



Skills and Knowledge





Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, relationship building, stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
Strong strategic thinking and reasoning abilities
A demonstrated ability to deliver results in support of key business objectives and stakeholder needs
Self-starter, results oriented, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Ability to operate at a detailed level when needed while also influencing and gaining credibility at senior executive levels both internally and externally

Fluency in one other EU language
