DECATHLON has been designing its own products since 1986.

Today, our SPORTS & VALUE CHAIN project focuses even more on the product and its design. This project drives us towards the goal of product excellence, focusing our efforts primarily on innovation, eco-design, the development of new technologies and excellence in component offerings.

More generally, the DESIGN roles at Decathlon are changing rapidly, driven by developments in new creation and design methods (eco-design, seamless digital design chain, various creative directives, etc.), the structuring of the resulting data, and the demand for second life potential of our products as well as the increased agility that all of these elements impose.

Design competence is a pillar of these transformation challenges.

ROLE & CONTEXT

At NABAIJI (Decathlon's Swimming Division) our ambition is to reconnect humans with the aquatic environment so as to support all swimmers by rejuvenating the living world for future generations.

We want everyone, everywhere to experience the benefits of water. From initial exposure to advanced swimmers, regardless of age, type of stroke or level. Today's personal challenges are the collective challenges of tomorrow.

As part of the strengthening of the Design / Communication team, we are looking for an experienced Design and Communications Manager.

As the guardian of Nabaiji's global image and the embodiment of the uniqueness of the product in terms of content, the ideal profile is aware of the aquatic environment, both in terms of sport and ecology, and wishes to join a team with strong ambitions in terms of eco-design and their desire to shake up the world of swimming.

CORE TASKS

Within the Design department and reporting to the Sport Leader, the role consists of building and implementing the 360° Design strategy of the Nabaiji project's new direction by integrating all players involved in creation and communication. To ensure that Decathlon's image for Nabaiji is applied and that the uniqueness of the sport is accurately conveyed.

Build a 360° design image to guarantee a product offer and communications for this sport that are coherent, exclusive and sustainable
- Determine the strategy that will allow the sport's uniqueness to BE expressed throughout the creative process (Design and Communication),
- In conjunction with our international team members, identify the key socio-cultural trends and customs in the priority countries for the sport,
- Determine the positioning of the sport in relation to seasonal and long-term trends while ensuring consistency with the initiatives defined by Decathlon's Artistic Direction,
- Ensuring the connection between the initiatives of Decathlon's ADs with Nabaiji initiatives,
- Determine and synthesise target customers' ages/lifestyles/uses/personalities/expectations and motivations in relation to the Motivations for activity as defined by Decathlon,
- Identify and illustrate the experiences sought by our users (colour/graphics/imaginary/iconographic, etc.)
- Monitor and lead the implementation of these strategies in conjunction with the supply and design strategies
- Define and formalise the formal, functional, colour, graphic and branding attributes of the product offering,
- Define and formalise creative concepts for marketing campaigns,
- Define and direct the iconographic, packaging and editorial guidelines.

Building and leading the team project (functional management)
- Build, lead and make the new direction of the Nabaiji project successful as a team,
- Bring together a group of people from different backgrounds to serve the project and ensure collective play within this sports community,
- Develop collective intelligence to bring about decisions and create the conditions for trust within the group,
- Identify and coordinate the best external service providers to meet the needs of both operational and strategic projects,
- Lead the team to ensure that creations are legally protected,
- Serve as Nabaiji's main contact for the Decathlon Group's network of internal Design Directors

Accompanying teammates
- Manage a team of 8/9 multidisciplinary designers (Product / Graphic Design / Style) and a communication manager
- Ensure the recruitment, training and development of this team, including skills development, performance evaluation and career management.
