Procurement Category Manager, Facilities Management & Estates

INSEAD is recruiting for a Procurement Category Manager - Facilities Management & Estates to join our Global Procurement Department. This is a permanent and full-time position that will be based at our Europe Campus in France, Fontainebleau.
Reporting to the Global Procurement Director, the successful candidate will oversee and manage the Facilities Management, Estates and Overheads (including Travel) categories within INSEAD. As Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings initiatives across these categories. This role requires strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of the relevant categories.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Category Management
Conduct market research, analyze data and provide insights on industry trends regarding the categories to ensure good balance in terms of value/quality/requirements to meet INSEAD’s current and future demands.
Lead category management projects and relevant strategic/significant tenders (RFP/RFQ); while partnering with both external and internal stakeholders to improve pricing and quality of services (for e.g. catering services, campus renovation).
Analyse supplier and spend portfolio in detail and provide regular dashboard/reporting updates.
Be a key business partner to internal stakeholders and understands requirements, risks, and constraints, communicates frequently to all team members to convey the right procurement mindset.
Build an in-depth knowledge of the strategic supplier relationships and contracts in place, implement regular business reviews with strategic suppliers following the agreed framework to enable actionable insights.
Manage critical supplier relationship (for e.g. Outsourced suppliers in Europe campus).
Identify improvement opportunities on performance, costs, consolidation, ESG impact, risk mitigation, process optimisation.
Support implementation of preferred suppliers’ partnerships and framework agreements.
Interact frequently with the buyers in the team to follow up on sourcing projects, contract renewals.
Procurement Governance, Compliance and Ethics
Ensure procurement policies, processes and procedures are adhered to and promote INSEAD’s regulations, governance, ethical and sustainability standards through best practices, to minimize risk and provide a good operational experience to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for risks identification and management for the categories, ensure compliance processes and controls are in place and up to date with all vendors and in particular strategic partners of the category.
Lead and Develop Procurement Function
Manage a team of 2 buyers and 1 analyst, develop their skills, allocate projects, responsibilities, drive adherence to best practices.
Contribute to driving a culture shift at INSEAD where solid procurement methods become the norm.
Create the environment for a high performing team culture and ensure that buyers possess all relevant skills and aptitude in sourcing, commercial and negotiation techniques, supplier management and are able to continually develop market expertise.
Procurement Evolution and Innovation
Implement a continuous improvement culture, seeking and introducing innovation whenever possible.
To be successful in this role, you should have
A Master in Procurement or a Master in Business Administration, in addition with a globally recognized professional Procurement accreditation (e.g. CIPS or equivalent).
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Procurement with an in-depth expertise of n Facilities Management, Construction and Renovation Works.
Excellent strategic thinking with strong numerical, analytical skills and financial acumen.
Executive level presence with high level communications and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment; proven experience in partnering with Business Leaders and stakeholders.
Collaborative and positive influencer within Management team, ability to explore all options and then take collective accountability and action.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance laws and regulations across Europe, Middle East, USA and Singapore.
Customer oriented and open to working with people from diverse background and culture.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual in French and English; Native French speakers preferred.
